I plan on ordering a '16 TRD sport 4x4 DCSB in Jan. I'm getting everything but the JBL. Is anyone tall that has the moonroof? I hear it's a tight fit. I'm 6'4" and am very comfortable in my '11 2WD sport. No sun roof. Will finally get to test drive one soon but concerned about the headroom. Thanks

 

The Tacoma I test drove had a sun roof and my head did not hit the roof (I'm 6'3") but I am more comfortable in my truck that does not have it. I have plenty of clearance without it and never wanted the sun roof to start.

 

Sit in both to be sure. I'm 6'2" with a long torso and the moonroof was too close for comfort. Half an inch of space on the top left side of my head.

 

Camper only weighs 220 lbs. Same power.

 

I'm not quite certain why someone would seriously be considering a 2015 vs 2016. More power, better fuel economy, vastly improved interior, beefed up frame, new safety features, much quieter interior, etc. To each their own, but for me it's not even close. I drove a 2015. Was not impressed, and the dealer was desperate to get rid of it and it had a screaming good price on it. So I suppose if cost is your primary concern, go for it. Though I'd probably still prefer a less optioned out '16.

 

I'm what you call, short. At 5'8", I have the sunroof I can say without doubt, you don't want it. It's pretty snug in there height wise. Too bad. Seems they could've added some height in there for you tall guys who want the wind in your hair.

 

I say the same thing every time I buy a new vehicle. I seldom make it past the one year mark, 14 months being the longest. And I'm 43. Expensive indulgence. Only live once, and if you can afford it, I highly recommend it.

 

Nice. I'm pretty sure I made a catastrophic mistake in getting the short bed. Damn.

 

I haven't even put anything in it and I love that I waited for the long bed. Honestly I just think the short beds look stubby.

 

It really depends on the angle you're looking at it in my opinion. Some angles love the looks of the short bed, some the long. I am coming from a 2014 Ram 2500 Megacab 4x4, so some of my trepidation may be due to the sheer size differences between the two rigs. I actually ordered a long bed, and was assured several times that's what they ordered, and yeah. Guess what? A shorty arrived. This, after my previous truck (long bed) that I had a deposit on, was snatched out from under me. So I pulled the trigger and grabbed the short bed. Time will tell if I regret it. Regardless, that's a damn nice rig you got.

Sell it, of course. And then, put the money into the truck. The purchase is only the first step towards many, many thousands of dollars of upgrades and add on's. Just ask my wife, she knows this cycle all to well.

 

I'm very much a sports car guy. My end goal is to have a summer and winter car. Living in upstate ny with tons of salt put down. Our vehicles don't last forever. Just trying to decide whether I want to start now or save money and buy a 370z or something similar in a few years.

 

Yeah. We're lucky in that regards. Here in western Oregon just have to deal with nine months of mist/rain. No snow to speak of, thusly no salt. Besides, the Eco terrorists would freak out here if they did salt the roads.

Isn't Toyota resurrecting the Supra? Or throw down big and buy the upcoming NSX if you're a Honda guy.

 

Yeah I haven't even made it to the 1 year mark yet lol. I can't argue with that. Unfortunately or fortunately I'll probably end up doing the same thing once I buy a house. It is an expensive habit

 

I wish I could say buying a house tempered my pathological need to drive a new vehicle every year or so. Sadly, for me, not the case. Maybe once my boys hit college pretty much simultaneously, I'll finally be forced to hold on to my rig for a few years. I'm sure it'll be a horrifying experience. I'll find myself slowly driving by dealerships that are out of my way, excessive research on newer rigs, glancing jealously at my neighbors new truck. Sigh.

 

Yeah it'll be rough. At least since I got my Tacoma I've stopped stalking dealership websites drooling over new trucks.

 

Dosent help being on this website either, when I had my 08 I wanted a 4wd so bad, when I had my 11 AC I wanted a 2012 refresh doublecab, now I have my 15 DCLB and have drove a few 2016s.
