I don't think that is the only explanation.
The owner could be a Toyota employee that got his hands on a 2017 TRD PRO grille, but how would that have worked? Stolen from an assembly line? Employee purchase of pre-production parts?

Another explanation is that the grille was "intercepted". The grille was likely made at an plastic injection molding plant that serves as a supplier to Toyota. While setting up the production run, a few defective units are produced as the set up is optimized. These are discarded of course, and you can be sure a few are almost perfect but still tossed out. Probably a lot less red tape at a small supplier than at a large Toyota plant as well. I can see how a "junk" grille could simply be picked out of the dumpster behind the supplier by someone in the know.

I have a 2016 white trd sport double cab white with a 3 inch pro comp lift and tires. No complaints really the engine does need to be revved to get the go go juice out... the power ect button does make a difference esp with the extra load from the lift and tires... i drive pretty aggressive and i average 13.5l/100. thats decent my 2012 with duratracs and no lift was worse. I haven't towed yet that will be the real test.

True. And I'm only pretending to ignore Minitruck.

The only person I'm ignoring was banned, so it's like they no longer exist after getting sucked into the TW black hole.

On the flip side, we finally made up our minds on a stove/double oven. Now to find a good home for the old range (3 years old). I'm sure Salvation Army could find someone who wants it.

I Love my truck!, as for the transmission, click it over to S and bump to 5th for city travels. ECT is a plus too. Mpg isn't an issue because ITS A TRUCK. The new engine is good, exterior is great and the interior is also very nice.

Nah, he helped me find my TRD logos. No, the member who shall not be named is "partial" to diesels, drum brakes, and personal attacks on third gens.

I get all kinds of compliments on the color of my truck, Magnetic Gray. Even I am amazed at the paint job, it looks like it was sprayed by a custom shop. I keep her nice and clean and shiny and on sunny days that truck just sparkles in the sunlight. I. too, am totally crazy about this truck and can't say enough good things about it. One of the "best" things about the truck is it's size. Because it is larger than my old Nissan Frontier, the wife is "afraid" to drive it! :woot:
