It's practically the same thing  so I just referred to it as speedway since I never saw the 2016 name. Toyota has reused the same paint colors under different names in the past. I'll be interested to see if it's different or not.

    Oops. My bad. :)

On another note. I'll have to save up more to afford the 3rd Gen. Tacoma, but today I found a deal on a 2014 Tacoma Access Cab 4x4.

Woohoo! Proud new owner of a Toyota Tacoma Truck.

That's pretty cool you'll swap out for the new truck and your son get a great deal, too. What a dad! :)

Nawww, could have just been my scatter brained post. I was in full truck mania the other day. Even worse today... came home with a new truck this evening.

And the crazy truck will call people for me. I think I just bought a smart phone disguised as a truck.

Sorry for the confusion.[IMG] New fangled married couple here. Two wifes. I told my dad once I was trying to "make up for the sons he never had." Unfortunately I must not have got my sense of humor from my dad. He didn't laugh. But I thought it was hilarious.

    Congratulations! !!

I had thought that but wasn't going to assume anything. I for one would have laughed at that joke!

Now see... that's how we find our circle of friends. What we all find funny, silly, absurd.

My apologies for making assumptions. Insert foot into mouth.... ;)

That's awesome that you're open & comfortable about your situation and not afraid to openly talk about it!! And even better that you're a Tacoma enthusiast!!

And I must say..... but wait, I know you have another thread. I didn't see if you posted pictures of the new truck or not (I tend to be scatter brained when I cruise the forum). Congrats on the new toy!!

Well, we're having a good storm here on the coast today... the neighbor's pine tree leans dangerously over my driveway... so the new kid is in the garage. I sat out there for about an hour earlier going over the manuals. JBL speakers turn out to be pretty decent... and the Bluetooth connection of the music on my phone... LOL ...why have I resisted technology for so long.

Maybe I can get the guys at the dealership to snap a photo of me and the truck tomorrow. Have to run back down to Newport for an appt. and then go back and pick up my insurance slip for the RAV4. We were so excited when we bought the truck... I lost track of most status. Even nearly drove off without the RAV and the dogs. Sheessshhhh!!!

No apologies necessary. ;) Just the stuff we have to go through to know people in the virtual world. I'm just old enough to be conditioned in the old straight world, too. Most people my age and older didn't grow up with open discussions. It's evolved for me to the point, it just is.

And, maybe I use the "wife" word just a little to piss off the bubbas who think they've got an exclusive trademark on the word. Ha!

I came up with this theory. When one could feel safe with friends socially, with family, and on the job... then come out and be yourself. Well, I've managed to build up a great network of friends over the years by being honest, look 'em in the eye, and honorable probably to a fault. And... I'm pretty clear, I'm not going to be friends with everyone... so it's cool if someone doesn't like me. Just helps clear my space better to be there for my friends and neighbors. The family... well, they were all so far off the beam all I could do was walk away. It wasn't because I was gay... it was because I was smart enough to not want to die in a fiery crash. The job? I did the best I could... and Uncle Sam has come around, meanwhile... so now I figure, doing my best means... being a guide, when the right context appears... for the younger folks I encounter at the VA these days. It's so weird... 20 years ago the WWII Vets would look at me and say teasingly... "you're too young to be here." I'd smile, a little sadly, and say, "awww, I'm just living twice as fast." Now I'm kind of the old folks in the waiting rooms. Totally weird sensation.

For all that... is why I can be open now. Life's too short not to be... forgive the pun... straight with people, even if I am gay. Ar ar ar.

And I own a Toyota Truck! OMG, how cool is that?

    Pictures will follow ASAP.

I have a sneaky suspicion that components for 2nd gens will work for the new gen. From photos taken suspension components look unchanged.

Front Suspension: Icon 2.5" remote reservoir CDC coilovers, light racing upper control arms Rear Suspension: Alcan custom leaf pack, Icon 2.5" remote reservoir bypass shocks with cdc adjusters 285/70R17 Duratrac tires, 17" FJ steel wheels,
I got a chance to see this up close at the Detroit auto show back in January, and the upper and lower control arms appear to be identical to the current 2nd gen ones. I could be wrong as I was only going off of appearance and not dimensions, but I would not be surprised if they kept them the same.

It's not a 2016, but close as I could get for now. At least I made it through the door. :)

Hahahahahaa... Lord, I hope not. Although I do remember an old survival training instructor standing up on the stage in the auditorium and screaming out at a bunch of us bonehead cadets... "You're ALL GONNA diiiieeeee."

It's the Pioneer Cemetery in Lincoln City, Oregon. Best real estate in town up on top of a promontory called Spanish Head.

Here's the other reason I like checking out the Pioneer Cemetery...

These were shot on a summer afternoon in mid-August 2012. Just 50 feet below the cemetery was bumper to bumper summer traffic on Hwy 101. These two black tail bucks just strolled along, grazing on berries, ferns, and clover.

In retrospect... the buck in the middle photo... was probably just peeing. But it sure looked like he just sat down to take in the view. His head would turn left slowly, then right again... as he seemed to be taking in the view.

I was headed back home from the lumber store and a cabinet order for our kitchen remodel. On a whim I drove up into the cemetery. This was my reward. These guys let me follow them around... as long as I was slow and not flighty. Well, and I was downwind... I think I was about 30 yards from them at one point. But still respectful of those tynes.

Ugh I wish my S10s tranny didn't kick the bucket so soon. Here I am stuck in a 3 year lease with a '14 AC reading this thread. I did just find out that an old boss of mine works at my dealership, maybe he can hook me up and slash this lease without any fees and hook me up with a new 3rd gen....wishful thinking?
