The newer ones aren't gonna be any cheaper. The older I get, the least likely that I want to do the mods. I'll just pay for 'em up front. :D And you know - I want everything!! LOL

I'll be amazed if the 3rd gens have heated seats. If not, that'll be on the To Do list. :D

I'd probably get a Speedway Blue again...unless there's another blue or copper. Hmmm.....

I'm glad you started this thread. Its just going to be one of those things where people are going to hate them at first then get used to them and start liking them just like anything else just might take a little time. I dont know if anyone remembers when they changed the Honda Civics back in like 1990 or 1991 especially when the coupes came out no one liked them then a few months later they were like the #1 selling vehicle and everyone wanted one!!!

Check out the photos of both prototypes, both have heated seats and mirrors (I'm sure will be options though).

I hope not. If the TRD OR production model is like the show model, push start will be an option. heated seats as well. You can see the button in the video below.

My wish list includes push button start with heated and cooled seats. I would imagine if cooled seats are an option it would only be in the limited, but I like the exterior of the TRD so much better that i'd probably take it over the limited if push button comes with it. With me being in SE Texas makes heated seats not be so big of a deal. The fiance likes them though so if its offered i'd probably get it.

Overall I like the look of the 2nd gen better, but with the goodies being offered with the 3rd gen, I find it hard to ignore. I'll be upgrading from a 96 4runner. I think its time for a little creature comfort.

I'm trying to talk myself out of being the first inline at the dealership when they release them, but I'm losing.
I love the simplicity of my 2010, but I'd really. Like the push start, sunroof and other features that seem to be popping up in the preview videos.

That's how it was with the new 4runner. Everyone hated the front end, but now most like it.

Nothing on MPG's or horsepower / torque numbers.

I read somewhere they should be showing-up at dealerships sometime in October.

I agree. I prefer the style of the previous 4runner better, but the new look has grown on me. I would definitely buy one if I wasn't in need of a truck.

I think the new Tacoma will be the same way. The current Gen face looks better, but the new one will probably grow on us. Plus, once you get rid of that hideous factory grill and put something cleaner in, it will look much better.

I don't understand the grill on the Limited model. It's supposed to be high end but you give it a plastic grill? The TRD grill is much better.

Does anyone have any experience ordering from Toyota? If I were to order a limited, do you think the option to order a different grill would be possible from the factory?

It looks good. I want to see all of the drivetrain refinements, especially with 6 speed manual

More than likely that's a no, I desperately wanted fog lights when I ordered my base model, but they wouldn't let me, you have to go with a specific package and thats it unfortunately. But im sure if you want.a different one it'll have to be dealer installed and paid separately from the price of the truck

You may have to wait until there are 3rd party vendors selling Toyota parts, or go with an aftermarket grill all together. I would think you could order a run of the mill Tacoma grill from toyota. It's the special package parts that they typically don't sell.
