Still undecided on the trd off road DCSB or the trd sport DCLB, but damn, that grill on the blue limited in the pics is awesome. Whatever I get I may try to swap that in. Maybe someday we'll know how the heck these things will be packaged.

    *gasp*

I actually want the chrome so my original statement stands, Austinites. Should my Limited not have the chrome and you want my non-chrome, I'm happy to swap. Please add 18 year-old Glenlivet as "convenience charge."

funny...immaturity and lack of knowledge, assuming, etc. runs rampant here, I implore you to read through some threads rather than look at the last comments before you start talking about certain someones and start running your mouth with accusations.

I'm really glad they didn't offer a sunroof option on the 2nd. I can foresee large issues from those who have a sunroof who off road as well due to flex and shifting issues while wheeling due to the large imperfections encountered from the terrain during their playtime off the road. Hopefully they offer the models with the sunroof as an available option and not preinstalled already from the factory on every model but the base.

I don't hate chrome either. I wouldn't want everything chrome, but chrome does not chip like painted door handles and grille surrounds. So there's that. I tend to like color match bumpers etc, but chrome is not a killer for me either. It has its places.

Is it just me or does the interior look a little fj like. That's a plus in book

I will be willing to bet that the TRD Off-road package does not have a sunroof. But the TRD sport and limited will have the sunroof.

I would like me a sunroof on TRD O/R I plan to buy. If it was available I'd get one. But won't be a dealbreaker if it is not, especially that it appears to be a dinky one. The sunroof would be far more impressive if it was a large one like in my 05 Subaru Legacy GT wagon. Kids love that big ass moonroof.

Seems like we are all wasting our time here trying to find out what Toyota will do... It's all speculation!
In the meantime we've provided Toyota with valuable marketing data, FREE! They love it! I'm sure they are monitoring all of this, while trying to decide the final details. Let's just stop NOW! Within 30 days of our SILENCE, they'll likely be force to make their final decisions and have to set a hard "Order" date with some basic spec to get the frenzy started again.

I had an '08 Outback with that sunroof. It was awesome. They did away with it for '10+, though. Same time the OB lost its lifted wagon style and became a CUV like everything else. I'd argue it's better than any other CUV, but that's still what it is now.

I likely will buy the 2016 Tacoma, unless the value proposition for some reason isn't there. Haven't owned a Tacoma, or even a truck, so this is new terrain for me. Almost certainly I will get a shell (to protect gear and, occasionally, to sleep in) and winter tires in winter, but am curious as to what else I need to do to make the truck serve me best. If anyone can offer suggestions on what to do, either modifications-wise or gear-wise, please weigh in. Mostly I do camping and mountain biking, and a fair amount of winter driving, particularly on the Interstate. Won't be rock crawling, but I'd like to be able to punch some moderate-difficulty mountain passes and to travel over the occasional unmaintained road.

Maybe they'll just discontinue the TRD version and make an aftermarket one. I remember talking to a company (I want to say it was Magnum or something) at EJS that said they produced the TRD superchargers, Toyota just owned the rights to them. So maybe they'll just not be marked as TRD.

Really, that's something that's actually kind of probable in my book. At least, the first part about them watching lol. I've seen many companies on here large and small asking for feedback about some things. Rigid and Discount Tire just to name two off my head. Where else would you this kind of specialized feedback on Tacomas? After all....they DID bring the 2016 Tacoma to the Rock Therapy event. So obviously, somebodies watching.

Also, not sure if it was mentioned yet, but the TRD Offroad will have a bigger differential (was an 8.something, I fail haha) and also the e-locker will be internal.

I noticed too that it has a lot of odd little air fins in various places lol. For the improved MPG I suppose.

First and foremost, welcome to the forum! While I did some gnarly stuff with my bare basics 4 banger before I sold it, I can attest to how well a stock TRD off road 2nd gen can handle from riding in my friend's taco. Straight from the factory without any mods the OR package can hold it's own for that random unpaved road like it's nothing. If you're going to be out in the middle of nowhere without another truck to rescue you out from a sticky situation, however, it's smarter to have too much than not enough, over-prepared than under, and I think most members would agree with that statement.

I'd recommend checking out the regional forum section and ask members who live in your area what they would recommend - there'll definitely be some wisdom in the crowd pertaining specifically to where you are

Yes. Lots of trucks are finally starting to use some aerodynamics to there advantage. The new F150's even have vents in between the bumper and grill that divert air around the outsides of the tires to reduce air resistance. Pretty neat, yet simple, stuff.

I'd be less worried about who's making the superchargers and more worried about how hard it will be to fool the new ECU into thinking everything is ok. Toyota is one of the manufacturers who's made it quite clear they are hell bent on not letting you fuck with things. Ask the Lexus IS350 guys...
