I think you guys are convincing me to go with the grabbers. Looking at them compared to the others, they have a higher tread wear rating (640 vs 500) and thicker tread depth (17/32 vs 12/32). Plus the price and the snowflake rating. Am I missing anything about either the Revo or the Firestone that the ratings and numbers don't show? How close to real life are those ConsumerReport tests, since the General's came in dead last.

I've had my Grabbers for about 2000 miles including the tail end of our snow here in Mass. They performed well in the snow and are great on the pavement. So far, I'm impressed. Got mine for $150 each out the door.

The Grabbers looks more agressive. They are both rated highly, but the Destinations look lame as far as appearance.

I had a set of Grabbers on a 2wd 1/2 ton Chevy. It made a huge differance in traction and handling over badyear wranglers. The wranglers were very squirmy while towing. They didn't wear very well either.
When the Dunlops are worn out on my Tacoma, I will be going with the Grabbers.

i got a set of firestone destination a/t in 285/70/17 yesterday. my local firestone
matched tireteam.com for $131 a tire. with the taxes and fees total was $649, got
a $50 mail in rebate (gift card), so total is $599. that is a great deal, i think. hopefully my icons will get here next week so i can get them on.

i like the grabbers, they just are not offered in 285/70/17, that is why i went firestone. i emailed their hedquarters (generals) and they are not planning on making
the grabbers in this size. that dosen't mean they never will, i just needed tires now.
the ratings were a big deal to me as well, it is my only car and i take my 2 year old girl to daycare every day. as much as i wanted a sick looking tire, i had to put safety
    at the front.

    just put a set of AT2 on the wife rav4... 215/70R16 :)

its a tough little tire with minimal road noise.

I was waiting for the new Grabber ( you can get it at 4wheelparts now, but I am waiting for them to be available to employees), but after riding around in the wifes car on these, I may just order a set of 33s for my truck too

they make 33's but they are 33X12.5x17, they do make a 285/75/16. if you have 16's you are set. if you have 17's, get ready to start pounding
metal. you can fit 12.5, but it takes some work to do so, along with new uca's.

Got a nail in my sidewall, couldn't wait for Grabbers on backorder, got the Destination at's. Overall, it's a good tire with little if any noise. I would have liked a rim guard. $215 ea. out the door with road hazard.

I didn't vote because I haven't tried either and Im looking for tires myself. I can't seem to find anybody saying anything negative on the Grabbers.

the only negative about the grabbers is they do not make them in 285/70/17. they have no plans to, i called the factory. that is why i got firestones. i am happy with them, and will get them again, when they wear out. they are quiet on the highway, and good offroad. there not them most agressive looking a/t out there, but they are quiet. i drive over
25,000 miles a year, so that was a factor for me.
