    Grabbers are more of a desert/race/sand tire. duratracs are more of a snow/ice/rock and a little mud tire.

    While Offroad tires probably aren't the best for these conditions I think the duratracs would do better than the grabbers. Just my opinion

    look at it this way.

    the DOT grabbers are a street legal version of a desert race tire... the tire was never intended to be a street tire, people just started running them on their DD trucks, tow rigs and prerunners and general said..." oh wow, if we get the DOT to approve this tire we can make a shit load of money!" ... thats how the DOT grabber was born.

    so it's doesnt take a rocket surgeon to figure out which tire will prob have the better road manners. having said that, the grabbers are a great steert tire. great wet traction, very low road noise, and great GRABBING power. they are geared towards a specific group of people that run their trucks in specific conditions... there isn't alot of snow in the dez, so when general designed the tire, they left that aspect out.

    Grabbers would blow dick in those conditions. They are a dot approved desert race tire.

    Has op even returned? I haven't checked to see who it is but this thread seems kind of...outlandish...to me. Why would it even cross your mind to get duratracs if you were in the desert, or why would it ever cross your mind to get grabbers if you run snow and mud...
