What’s up Tacoma world. Long time stalker, first time poster. Looking to see if anyone can help me out with a part number since the dealership parts dept was ZERO help and can’t seem to find it online.

backstory... did a timing belt job and was rechecking torque on the accessory belts after my test drive. I was torquing down the adjusting locknut for the alternator to 25ftlb and the bolt that connects the adjusting bolt to the lock nut snapped. Looking to replace the circled bolt in the picture.

    thanks in advance

Thanks for the replies boys. Unfortunately, the 2RZ/3RZ alternator bolts up the motor differently than the 5VZ Alternator. The bolt I need looks like a square with a drilled out section tapped so that the long alternator adjusting bolt screws through it. Welded on to that square is a stud that that goes through the bracket on the motor and attaches to a locknut to keep the adjusting bolt from shifting around.

I know it attaches different but that adjuster looks exactly the same as mine. I’ll take a picture in the morning

Actually I take that back, mine has a bolt to lock the threads not a nut. I’ll still double check in the morning.

Mystery solved and posting for anyone who might have this problem. After hours looking over drawings found the piece I needed in the fan section. No help from the parts counter jockeys at the dealership.

If you need the long bolt to adjust.
    90119-08493 = Long tensioner Bolt

    Thanks for the help guys!

It took about 2 years till I got my local Toyota Parts Manager up to speed we worth both younger back 30 years ago .

If the parts were 5 years or older He was lost Now we sit down and figure what newer part might work where the old part is obsolete.

Considering the 5vzfe is coming up on 25 years old you would think the parts guys would know this motor inside and out. Despite the updates and discontinued parts. Oh well... back on the road
