    I recently embarked on a similar quest. I wanted to run an electric skillet that needed 12A. I too looked at 2000W inverters and larger alternators (even though I have the 130A from the towing package). Ended up buying a WEN 2000W generator. It's the same engine as the small yamaha but half the price. Works great and is pretty quiet.....except if you're at altitude. One thing you need to remember is if you're going to the mountains ANY engine will struggle. So that 2000W of power turns into 1300W max. Ended up eating cereal instead of the hot dinner we planned on cooking. I'd done all the math needed to size my application and power usage requirements. Even did tons of testing at home in the yard. Didn't think about the altitude. Returned the generator. Lesson learned. :(
