Well, since no one else is doing it... I did it. I just placed an order for the Manta Awning.

Nice! Look forward to your take on it...I considered it as well as some of the others but I think a small 4' one will serve me best.

I considered a smaller awning. But if I'm base camping, the Manta should be pretty awesome. I wish their website had more details and photos. There is no mention on how the LED light connects (is it battery powered or do I need to run power to it). Well, I guess I'm the guinea pig.

I saw in one of their videos about the other awning with LEDs...and they were wired (12v outlet).

I saw it on YouTube, there's a wire that goes to your 12v plug (cigarette lighter). Then a connector near the light for easy disconnect. I was going to drive down to Miami to buy a 165 and manta, but things came up so I might just be buying a 165 in a few weeks.

About an hour outside of Harrisburg, PA. I have 21 acres of land out there. Going to head out there Saturday morning and set up basecamp then spend the day clearing some trails and general brush control before everything sprouts up for Spring. And of course let Terry the Adventure pup explore the outdoors.

I'm going to have to remove the GT-140 and face it the opposite direction when the Manta arrives (since the Manta is driver side only). I have my GT-140 mounted to open on the driver side currently.

Hopefully the Manta can connect to my Yakima round bars too. I'm wondering if I need to fabricate something to create another mount for the Tacoma factory cab roof rack, or if simply attaching to the two Yakima bars will be suffice. It's a pretty long awning. And lastly, zipping/unzipping the cover for the RTT on the awning side may be tricky.

Anyone have a solution to prevent the ladder from banging up the floor of the tent while packed up? I've noticed scuff marks on the floor of the tent from the ladder hitting it, even though I have the tent as well packed as possible. Seeing as these floors are not metal, I'm starting to get worried how long this tent is going to last.

I've noticed the same scuff marks on mine. I'll probably put some anti sliding mat down...or when I install a "shoe net" I'll go the whole width of the tent and just leave it on to act as a buffer for the ladder when it's folded up.

Show net... great idea! I finally camped in mine this weekend and the ground was pretty muddy due to 2 inches of rain. Having the ability to store shoes outside the tent is a nice idea.

I plan on taking an old cargo net (type that you stretch over stuff) and cutting it down to fit right under the opening behind the ladder so I can sit on the edge and take off/put on shoes.

I'll see if I can find something like what I'm thinking.

Found this pic...but I'm thinking about making the net tight to the underside instead of hanging loosely like this. Also, more permanent.

Brilliant! Nice area to store odds and ends while camping.

Exactly! My thought is if the net is tighter to the floor, it'll keep things further out of the way. I'll do a net that is at least half of the area, if not the whole floor area, just for other odds and ends while the tent is setup.

There is a company that makes accessories like this for rtt's. https://compact-camping-concepts-2.myshopify.com/collections/roof-top-tent-camping-accessories
IMO their prices are pretty reasonable.

I have a "welcome mat" kinda thing that I put at the bottom of my ladder when tent is open that I use to wipe my feet off with. I also put that mat under the ladder when the tent is folded up so that the ladder doesn't beat up the board.
