They are a modest tire, but they are a jack-of-all-trades tire.

They are winter rated, all terrain, quiet highway, good fuel economy.

They are a great choice for 99% of tacomas. They were just too expensive for me and I have a Yoko winter set already.

They only reason to pass on them is they aren't the best choice for offroading, but good for fishing/camping/weekend adventures.

I've run Geolandar LTs on four trucks and will soon put them on another. I've also run Michlins, Goodyear, BFGs and Coopers, but prefer the Geolandars.

My first set was on a 2000 Taco, 2nd on a Dodge Ram, 3rd on a 3/4 ton GMC, and now running them on a 2012 Taco. I have a second Taco that I put a cheap set of Coopers on and will be replacing them soon.

The tires wear well and are relatively light in weight for the number of plys. The tires are quiet. My trucks get decent milage. The tires perform well in snow and rain, and on dry pavement. I don't baby them when I go off the pavement and have never had a problem. (knock on wood)
