I bought it to use this year, but where I hunt, I really don’t need a 270. My trusty old 35 Rem has never let me down.

 

As someone who owns a Ruger M77 Hawkeye in 7mm rem mag, someone should buy this gun. I know hunting rifles can be hit or miss, but this is one of the best shooting guns for the money. It has an internal magazine that you can release without having to cycle the bolt and a 3 point safety that allows you to work the bolt while the safety is still engaged.

.270 is also a pretty flat shooting and very reliable round. Anyone getting into hunting, this is a GREAT gun!

Edit: it also has a free float barrel.
