Do pay attention to how the spring mates up to the top plate. It isn't supposed to look like this.

We had to disassemble and reassemble to correct it.

In that guy's case, the rear block was installed and WAY over tightened AND corroded. We had to cut the old u-bolts off and I think we installed a U-bolt flip kit with the new leaf pack.

It was seriously one of the best lifted truck rides...at least that I've ever experienced. You can imagine my delight to know that his ~$700 lift rode better than my ~$1500 setup.

    Same crap everyone else got
The 5100's with 885 springs with no weight in the front give a great ride. I don't think there is a better budget lift out there.

All this chatter about lifts reminded me I have a brand new set of Headstrong AAL’s (approximately 1.5” of lift height). Asking $150. Located in Calhoun.

Hmm.....should I get these for my 22 Pro even though no allocation yet? Going to be getting a RSI EVOa and a Rigd supply tire carrier, so may need this for the added weight. Do you need new u bolts with this?

It's definitely the most budget friendly option! Aside from shitty spacers. As for preload though, from my understanding the bilsteins work best and are even reccomended for your factory springs and don't use a standard "preload" like the eibachs do.

Looks good! If I ever do get a front bumper it's going to be a long way off I think. So I'll be fine. From my understanding though bilsteib reccomends the factory springs. I know tons of people do the ome springs though and there's no harm in it. I'm not 100% sure I want to do 2" up front though.

I've been seeing more and more of that. So it seems all together if you plan on a shell(again I'm still unsure about that also) or if you pull a trailer etc, AAL'S are not the way to go.

Yeah I bet that's nice! Not sure it's in the budget at the moment though.

Yeah you definitely let out a can of worms. But I think it helped. Honestly the budget is kind of low at the moment. I've got a whole lot more going on in life right now than necessary.

I think I'll take that advice and start there with the 5100's up front. Yeah I DEFINITELY DONT want all that lean stuff for sure! Also, I keep reading more and more bad things about the AAL so I'm starting to back away from that idea.

Another thing to consider is labor. If you do your own work is no big deal but if you have to pay someone the money saved on a little cheaper lift can end up costing more. Especially if you don't like it the first time and want to change it or add weight later and want to change it. On my last truck I went with the eibach pro lift and I never liked how it sat because the front was almost higher than the rear but I didn't want to have to get someone to help me change it so I dealt with it. I'm not trying to sway you in fact I still haven't had time to put my 2.0s on my truck so I don't even know if I'll like them. I'm just telling you I experienced before and chose to do this time around.

So that brings me to the final decisions...

    1. Do I need all 4 or just the front?
    2. Do I do the 2nd notch(.65")? Or the 3rd notch(1.1")?
    3. IF I do the 3rd notch... add a 1/2" block in the back during or only after if necessary?

So I when you buy shocks/struts is always good to replace them all at the same time if possible.
So I would buy the Pair of Bilstein Struts you want and buy the matching shocks for the rear.
The block in the rear most likely won’t be needed, however if a kit is available that has the block, it may be worth it to buy it all at once for shipping reasons. If ya use it cool..if not, it’s only a cheap piece of metal, that you could sell on here.

Can someone help this man regarding the notch question?
I think you would clear the 265s on any of the settings… someone correct me if I am wrong.

Good info thank you! I have found the set of all 4. As for the 1/2" block it's not sold anywhere with the shocks but Headstrong offers it for only like $28 free shipping with the longer pins. I'm waiting on a call back to know weather or not I'll need longer ubolts for them though.

When I lifted mine I was on a really tight budget and did it in stages. Front shocks, then rear shocks, then AAL. No issues doing it this way so buy as your budget allows, but do plan to do all 4 shocks at some point as @Built2Ride said.

2nd Notch will likely level you, 3rd notch will make you slightly nose high. Or at least that's how the 2nd Gens operate.

I probably wouldn't go third notch, though. I don't think you'll be happy with that much preload on your factory springs.
