I tore the boot on one mine. Ordered mevotech ones from rockauto for pretty cheap. You can order just one side if that's all you need. Takes about 10mins to replace. Probably easier and cheaper to do this than trying to meet up with someone from GA for a free one when you factor in gas and your time.

I was between those and the Napa proformer ones. I ended up going with the Napa ones. I don't really recall why....possibly availability. I had forgotten that I replaced them until this post. So I guess that goes to show that they have done well. My maintenance log shows that they were replaced on 8/7/2021. That was also 10k miles ago.

Pre-covid, I might put 20k on the truck in a year. It's been almost 2 years and I've only driven 10k....crazy how times have changed.

I’ve got some crazy squeaking goin on front driver’s side. I’m hoping it’s the torn boots, I can’t find the source of the squeak to save my life!

I'm not much help. In fact mine doesn't squeak, but... look at the shock behind the spring. Mine shows signs of rubbing. No explanation of how THAT happened!

@cubie One way to find the source is to literally spray each bushing, one at a time; driving the truck in between each part sprayed….thus pin pointing the source.

Most likely, the squeak is caused by dirt in a joint - dirt that entered the joint through the tear.

But, I assume you know that.

I have a squeak in my rear leaf springs. I need to pull them off the truck, and clean and lube them. Not a job I am looking forward too...

    Not worth it.

I wasn't sqeaking before pulling mine apart and doing just that. Now, I squeak. I would first lift up one side to remove the weight from it. Then pry up each leaf and add grease or ptfe pond liner / rubber at the contact points. See if that stops the squeak.

Usually the culprit. That’s why when it rains the squeak goes away.

    I'm sure you're right.

I would like to pull apart the leaves, clean/wire brush and paint each one, clean and re-grease the ends.

But, not sure when I will (if ever) get around to that...

I pulled mine apart, cleaned off the surface rust, painted with EZ-slide (which is a graphite infused paint available at TSC), added a leaf and 3* axle shim. It squeaks.
