Covered in stickers and chrome stick-ons for extra horse torques and foot powers. Icon sticker gets me tons of travel, dozens of milimeters.
3 inches of lift is a sweet spot for these trucks.

makes no difference if the dealer or a shop installs the lift. If something breaks because of the lift its not covered. that's it. Procomp 3" costs 500 bucks and a few beers to local tw members for an install. 6" lifts suck.

100% correct .. but I have 15+ dealers in Houston .. I tell them to fix my shit or I will go somewhere else. Never been turned down for warranty work on the 4 2nd gens I've owned, all lifted, regeared and locked with armor

Guess I just got lucky with my local dealer. they love my truck. I also don't take it to them for things that broke that are my fault. Like my wheel bearings, CVs, carrier bearing. They have fixed my door locks, break cylinder, and stereo.

same. only issue I've had with any dealer around me was they didn't want to grease my driveshaft since it was aftermarket which it was understandable. I don't remember last time I went to the dealer to get something fixed

I have had 4 tacomas with 6 inch lifts Zero problems until I hit about 100K on them then I needed front bearings, on my 06 thats it, no bigger, brakes and not regeared trans never broke. It is all in how you drive it. Drive like an Asshole=Broken shit Drive like a normal person=truck that looks good and doesn't break. Id say do it at an aftermarket shop. Pro comp has a lift shield warranty free as long as you have it installed at a authorized dealer. I am sure BDS has that too. I paid 500 for the install of mine.

Agrees with the above ^^^^^^^Never has any issues with any db lifts I have installed either. Op the lifts aren't that hard to do and I would suggest if not mechanically inclined just get a couple people in your area to assist you. Buy the basic kit and build it to your needs / likes. If you don't offroad no need to spend the extra coin on the coilovers and just get the bilstein shocks used on the rcd kit. Would also recommend getting a new leaf pack for the rear and also install longer ss brakes lines front and rear. Also if you are looking at the bds kit the zone is the same except a lil easier on the wallet.

I would go with a shop. Dealerships are known to rip off customers on aftermarket items. The Toyota dealership in my town is selling a 2016 lifted Tacoma that stickers for $32,828.00, they added a cheap spacer lift and aftermarket wheels and tires and are asking $40,826.00. That's a $8,000.00 markup for about 3K in parts.

$3000 in parts? Is the spacer lift titanium and the wheels 24x12's?

Just for shits and giggles, I took pics of the window sticker and the wheels, tires on the truck. Not sure what brand of lift, but definitely spacers in the front and blocks in the rear. Wheels are Pro-Comp 17x9 priced at $175.99 a piece and the tires are Pro-Comp Xtreme Mt-2 285/70-17 priced at #319.00 a piece on 4wheelparts.com. Guess these crooks are counting on a uneducated buyer to buy this truck.

    A few things
The only thing worse than the dealer working on your truck is having 4 wheel parts work on your truck. And if it's possible, the only thing worse than that is having 4wp put a pro comp lift on your truck. Do some research first and not throw the first lift someone offers you on your new truck.

I work right down the street and know which one you were talking about. Those lifts they put on their trucks are way overrated and definitely waaaaaaaay overpriced.

They can't void a warranty because you've got a lift. I'd tell them to kick rocks and go to the shop.
