Get a second key for a FRACTION of the dealer price!

Hey everybody, I've only had my Taco for a few months now and I'm a newbie to TW but I figured I'd put my fix to an annoying problem out there for anyone who might need it. When I bought my truck used it only came with one key. The dealer wanted to charge me 500 bucks to get a second one made so I found a work around. Head on over to Tomskey.com and you can order a new key blank by using the FCC# on your current fob and rent the programmer from them as well. This way you can program your own keyfob after watching their how to video. The programming took me like 10 minutes total. Then all you have to do is get the key blank cut by your local locksmith and send the programmer box back to Tomskey. After all said and done it cost me about $100 instead of $500.

 

Good to know. Looking into hiding a fully working spare key somewhere in the truck.

 

cool. might go this route. i cant seem to find my main key so ended up using the second set. i know its somewhere in the dang house but you know how that goes lol.
