its due to us 4wds have a front differential and drive shaft that goes over the front cross member... you need a drop bracket lift to raise a 4wd about 3-3.5"

Drop bracket lifts come with new spindles. :D So they are not just for 2wd. Its just that with a 2wd you can lift with JUST spindles and don't need all that other stuff. Where as with a drop bracket lift the spindle is just one of many parts needed to lift the truck.

It is a shame no one has come up with a way to extend the factory Spindles, so it'd be cheaper. Hell, then you could slap on a set of TC gussets for strength and be good to go.

Your truck looks good, but if you were to do it again, I would tell you to save the money and do it yourself it is an easy install.

I am also wondering how the spindles made your ride better. Unless you had the coils cranked to lift the truck before and now you are only using the spindles to lift your truck there will be no change in the way the truck rides.

For those who are confused about spindles and why you cannot get them for your 4wd truck it is because of just that; you have 4wd. While there are aftermarket spindles that come with drop bracket lifts they themselves do not add any lift. 4wd "lift" spindles only raise the UCA mounting point in order to keep a "good" UCA ball joint angle. If you were to put a drop bracket lift on your truck without extended spindles you would max out your ball joint leaving you with little to no suspension down travel.

Now with the prerunner lift spindles like the TC, Camburg or Engage you actually do lift the truck because these spindles raise the mounting point of the LCA. With these spindles the lower control arm mounts at or near the centerline of the wheel therefore putting the wheel lower relative to the truck given the same suspension. This is also why 4x4's cannot use these spindles as the LCA mount occupies the spot where the CV axle would be.
Another nice thing about the prerunner spindles is the increased ground clearance. Since the LCA mount is moved up on the spindle 4" that means your LCA gains that distance from the ground, giving you great front end ground clearance.

Here are some side by side shots of the 05+ stock spindles and the Camburg 4" spindles:

I lined up the UCA and LCA mounting points so given the same suspension components and suspension ride height you can really tell the difference in lift between the two

It wouldn't be that hard to extend your factory spindles but that wouldn't do anything but change the angle of your UCA

Why cant they make small lift spindles with the available space for 4x4 to push it as far as possible before the CV gets in the way? What would be the 4x4 spindle limit 1", 2"?

Is there just not enough demand of a 1" lift spindle? Every bit of down travel and suspension softness you can get back is worth it to me.

I don't even think you could move it up half an inch without there being interference

^ You asked why it rode better for me?

I had my KINGS Cranked @ 2.75-3 in the Fronts. So I had a lot of preload on these. When I installed the Spindles, I had the shop drop my Kings down to NO preload and @ the lowest setting possible.

So it rides as Best the Kings could ever do. I noticed the Smooth feel right away after driving off.

Why didn't I install these myself? I read about it and was gearing up to do it. However in that span of 2 weeks. I've read people getting stuck and taking 2 days to get it done. Whats suppose to be 3-5 hrs ended up to 8-12 hrs for a few guys.

The shop did my work in 2.5 hrs and for pretty cheap! They adjusted my Kings down and I'm glad I had them do it. They had the tools to adjust it after they SEIZED up. Meaning, if I was @ home. I would've been screwed as I wouldn't be able to crank them down.

So it was done and complete in 2.5hrs and 2 guys working on it. :D

I figured that was the case. I just wanted to clarify that the spindles themselves do not change the ride. Don't want anyone spending $1000+ thinking it will make their better
