    Need more advice on shocks.I
    Have sport with hatachi shocks
but like the way a TRD off-road
Rides. I should have bought the
Off road. Just wondering if I
Can get a off road feel by changing my shocks? Thanks for the help.

Yes you can, look for oem off road take offs on this forum or Craigslist... usually they are pretty inexpensive

Personally I'd run 6112's in the front and 5160's out back, thats the best value set up imo

Or call Headstrong Offroad. They are extremely helpful on the phone. They have lots of experience with the Tacoma and can advise with exactly what you want

I ordered a set and they just came in. The 6112s are impressive.

Offroad and sport shocks both suck. There's a reason people swap them out. Get some bilstein 5100 if on a tight budget. Get 6112/5160 if you can afford them, great value.

You could run your stock rear shocks down a 10 mile washboard road / trail. When you realize your shocks melted and the oil is burning on your exhaust you will pick any option than stock shocks :crapstorm:

If you like how the OR rides then get a take off set for a few hundred and call it a day. Or you’ll go down the rabbit hole, little more money and you can get 5100’s, little more you can do the 6112, then you can talk yourself into fox, and so on. So really, if you like the off road just get those.

but for a little more you could get 5100’s.......

Skip the OR shocks and go to 6112 or even 5100. I also thought I should have got the Offroad but I really wanted another longbed.(No OR longbed option in Canada). After a few months of buyers remorse I got over it. I'm just gonna wait till I blow a shock or whatever before I upgrade. Drive the truck for a bit and you'll forget the difference.

Edit: I shouldn't say that, I test drove a shortbed MT Sport and I did find it very harsh. The longbed on the Sport suspension is for sure a less harsh ride than a shortbed.

if you're going to go through the trouble of replacing them i'd spend a few hundred more and get something better like others suggested

    Great advice right here. ^^^^^

5100 is so much better, in all measures, than the stock tRD OR billsteins.

You can probably grab a set of OEM OR shocks for cheap. But I would spend that money and get 5100s. front/rear Or maybe get 6112/5160 but thats a pretty penny!

Important note:wheels and tires also affect the way it feels, 16” wheels with a taller side wall will make a difference too.

If you like the way the OR shocks feel/perform then save the $$ and grab a set of low mileage take offs and call it a day!
