That is a rare one. I think one of the best values out there.

Yes, I am coming from a 2007 FJ Cruiser. It is a step up in every asset except rear breaks, and the locker. I was ready to do a factory order, but luckily my dealership had the exact build I wanted already allocated to them, but not built. Magnetic Gray DCSB SR with the dark satin wheels, convenience package, tow package, all season floor mats, purchase price of $29.3k I think I did well. Buyers agreement signed, should pick up on 6/14.

    You did fantastic.

I think the DC 4x4 is a excellent choice. What does the convenience package entail? So if you added those options, is yours the same as SR5 then?

With the new technology these days, I wonder why or how the 2016 Tacomas can't/don/t indicate fluids levels are low(???)

The convenience package is keyless entry and cruise control.

From comparing the trims, if I would have gotten the SR5 I would lose the option for the dark satin wheels, get chrome bumpers and grill trim, different fabric on the seats, option to get the long bed DC, fender flares. I think that is it... also its worth mentioning, I did not want any of these things.

Makes sense. I don't know much about the wheel differences as you said, but sounds great. I love the LB

For me 6MT is a must, so I had to get the OR that I just ordered. Delivery in 4 weeks.

My FJ is a 2007 Solar Yellow 6MT, kind of rare. Love the 6MT but, I am reluctantly leaving it.

What is the appeal in getting the OR in 6MT, don't you lose the option for crawl? and isn't that the big appeal with the OR edition besides the locker?

That's what I've been doing lol. Fortunately since I live in Los Angeles, there's a Toyota dealership every 10 miles in any direction. Probably at least a dozen or more in the LA county area. But I work full time and the closest one to my work is where I've been getting the crap from, which sucks because if I need something done for my truck it's best if I can just drop it off while I'm at work.

There isn't an appeal of OR.

My needs were 6MT and 4x4 in a DC. My choice is sport or OR. I didn't want the hood scoop, so forced into buying OR.

My ideal truck would be SR DC V6 4x4 6MT. But since Toyota doesn't make that, they are forcing me to pay a $6k premium....

If you ever decide to go off-roading you'll love the rear locker ;)

My truck mostly will see non 75% usage on unpaved roads, as it will be used for our Date farm in 29 palms.

Oh cool I know exactly where that is! Well you might not ever need the locker then, it's really only ever used for 'climbing' scenarios...like over rocks or through deep ruts where one rear tire might lose traction being lifted up off the ground. Nonetheless, it's added peace of mind at least!

Oh I agree. But I refuse to pay a premium into the trim that allows it. Its cheaper to add and ARB Air Locker that can be engaged in 4hi. I have the locker now in my FJ, and have wheeled it in my area (southeast PA) never found a situation where it was needed, and when it was I needed it in 4 hi.

Yeah if I were to get a 2016 I would personally just opt for the 4x4 SR 4cyl base model with the 5speed...very inexpensive (relatively) and I could use all the money I saved to mod the heck out of it. I was close to doing that when I found my current '04 v6 4x4 TRD with low miles, so I grabbed it instead

Absolutely! Actually locker will come in handy, as our farm is 11 miles from the nearest road, with quite a bit of steep grade. Thus some deep ruts are there. No rocks.

Once a year we hit up Ocotillo Wells, we will try to us it there :)

Sadly that doesn't come in DC, which is a major requirement for me.

Yeah it's a shame the manual trans trim options are getting whittled down with each generation.....I do commend Toyota for having the most available though.

It's annoying to drive with during the duration of my lease, I was contemplating keeping it after the lease is up, I like to take care of my vehicles for myself and for the next owner. Just a few reasons off the top of my head.

I am buying out of state, and won't have much time to be at the dealership. Thus creating a list for dealer to do as part of my acceptance of vehicle

Since I already paid for the truck not sure they have much incentive to help
