Ridgelines are cool, but not trucks. It's a neat idea, but will never take the place of a truck. As stated, it's a uni body design, made that way for car like noise and comfort levels. The suspension can't take the beating that a frame with suspension mounts, the frame and body can't move a little independently on the Ridgeline making it need more suspension travel to cover the same terrain without lifting a tire. While I like a lot of the appointments on the Ridgeline, it's a car with a bed. Not a truck. I'm sure it's perfect for many, just not for me.

I read that the new ridge line will also be a pilot with a bed. So basically a 3rd gen taco is a modified 2nd gen taco, and a new ridgeline will be a modified old ridgeline. So you could probably make some safe assumptions and come to a conclusion based on the vehicles out right now. If you love your ridgeline, just wait a year and get a ridgeline. Or go test drive a 3rd gen for the day and see how it works for you. Hope that helps a bit

How do you change a flat without clearing the bed on the Ridgeline?

The trunk with spare under the bed disqualifies the Ridgeline. Murphy's law says that when the bed is full of crap, that's when you're getting a flat someplace inconvenient. If I drove with a 250 lb. boulder sitting on the trunk lid, would the lid still open? How about a load of sand?

Ridgeline rides "better" because it is not a truck. If you like a car like ride then a ridgeline is for you. If you want a truck that can perform truck duties but don't need a full size get a tacoma. The ridgeline is not a truck. It is like an El Camino, but a car based El Camino made to look like an suv.

About any modern v6 should be able to tow 4000lbs properly equipped.

Actually the Ridgeline is more similar to the Odyssey/Pilot, Honda used a similar platform for the three vechicles. Don't fault the Tacoma ride as it is a real truck, simple and reliable with or without load.

    2. Would be nice to be able to place a sheet of plywood (4'x8') in the bed with out the wheel wells getting in the way. (this is not an issue with the Ridgeline)

Try using the factory made...2x6 notches in the bed sides..... You put 2 pieces of 2x6 in them and you got a bed that carries 4x8 sheets all day long...!!!! (just above the wheel wells)...

I put a 2x6 in the rear notches so when I put a beer case in there... or gas cans... they stay there....!!

From the front, the truck rides too low and the windows are too tall; it looks like something the Pope rides around in, terrible. The side photo shows an improvement and from the rear angle shoot, the truck looks really nice. This is definitely an outstanding option for an older couple and maybe that's the market Honda is after.

Why are people so concerned with electronic seat adjusters? Complaining about it requires more energy than it takes to adjust a tacoma seat.

I agree, the mechanical adjustment works fine. I do know that the 2017 Tacoma will come with electric adjustable seats. If that's your thing, wait until next year.

The new nissan frontier would be my choice before the honda. Of course neither are yet to exist. If the frontier looks anything like the navara leave me out. Looks like a minivan truck.

I have 2 brands on my never again list. Chrysler and Honda. Honda has an excellent rep but I guess we have just been unlucky twice.

Look at a Frontier if you want a solid inexpensive truck for a couple years.
