I remember when we watched the original Star Trek TV series and thought how cool those communicators would be. Interesting how much they looked like flip phones.
The first color TV my family bought, the service technician had to come out and tune the color before we could watch it. It was a huge piece of furniture with a tiny screen by today's standards.
I remember taking tubes out of electronic devices and going to the electronics store to test them, and phone numbers using letters for the first two digits.
You actually paid for things in cash or used a "charge plate" that was run on a manual imprint machine using a carbonized paper receipt.
We were outraged when a pay phone call went from ten cents to a quarter! You always made sure you had change in the car, especially once beepers came out. Had one of those too. If you were one of the cool kids you had a bag phone that plugged into your cigarette lighter and stuck your magnetic antenna on your car roof.
My friends and I could chip in and cruise all night for $5.00. All the shit we can't live without today was science fiction for half my life.

I am not sure about the 2021's, but when I was looking to buy a new Tacoma in 2019, at that time at least, the SR5s did NOT come with builtin navigation, which is what you are inquiring about. It only came with Premium systems, such as were standard on the TRD models. That is just one of the reasons why I ended up considering and ultimately buying, a TRD Sport, because it came with Premium radio which included builtin navigation.

Yup 2020 TRD OR w/ apple car play

Gaia and Google have APIs for apple car play, android auto works a little bit differently too.

Yup! We use Gaia for maps offline constantly when we're in the woods, signal doesn't reach. I was in North Maine Woods without signal for 3 days up there. I just hit airplane mode and kept going - had the maps downloaded ahead of time though.

Assuming OP doesn't have a smart phone.

Pretty sure Toyota trashed Entune maps on the new headunit for generally more consumer-desirable Carplay and Android Auto. I wonder if the 2016-2019 units would work? There should be plenty of fairly cheap used units out there. Fairly certain the GPS units are located within the headunit itself so no other mods would be needed, so long as it would be plug and play. Just unsure of the wiring.

Tuning the TV - right - we bought a ZENITH back in '64... never forget it ... a friggin whopper that thing was too. Kids would come over
to watch shows that 'broadcast' in color, not all of them did. Wizard of Oz was standing room over at my house.

I used a bag-phone when I was cruising the bay-area as a computer support analyst - big shot I was with that thing. And to knock socks
off I remember when gas was .38 a gallon.

Don't know about you but when brand new V.W. Beetles sold for $2,000 I was livid - and I was green with envy when a dude I know bought
a brand new Mazda RX-7 I think he paid the princely sum of $3,500 for it.

A pal in High School got his girl pregnant - so they hitched up and he built a 3-2 house about 1500 sq feet on 2 acres for the heavenly outlandish
price of $40,000... FORTY THOUSAND DOLLARS.... OMG.... THE HUMANITY

I think my first job paid $1.90 an hour. Knew someone that was knocking down $2.25 he was the toast of the town, that guy was RICH... had
    all the chicks...

Fking-A we are a bunch of old geeezers...

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
I think it was around 1962 - pumping gas at my folks general store - it was 5 gallons for $1.
First Summer job during high school - tossing hay bales or picking rocks in the fields - paid a whopping $0.50/hour.
My second car was a brand-new ordered-for-me 1969 Chevy Nova SS 350CID 4-speed on the floor with posi-traction - I think it cost around the same $3,500.
I suppose some of us ARE getting to be cranky old(er) geezers ....
