    Hi All,

Looking to purchase my first Taco but have run into a snag. I was hoping to find an ORDC, manual, with advanced tech package WITHOUT the premium package (not a fan of leather or sunroofs). I know, it'd be a unicorn config. I'm able to build on Toyota's website for 2021 MY. However, in speaking with 2 dealerships now, even though this is an allowable config on the site they believe you can only get the advanced tech package WITH the premium package. It sounds like they are able to get the regular tech package WITHOUT the premium package though. Anyone able to speak as to whether or not the dealers are right here?

    Thanks!

If your not a fan of the sunroof, dual climate control, JBL, leather seats then you should just get 1 with the tech package which is the blind spot monitoring. Your advance tech package has all the stuff you sound like you dont want. Getting the tech package only you can upgrade some stuff later if you want to. Not a big fan of the sunroof myself

You can get it without, especially if the build site is letting you since that's based on your region's allocations, dealer is just being dumb or trying to upsell you.

Thanks guys. I agree if given a choice I would do the regular tech package and no premium over advanced with premium. I’ll try my hand with some other dealers tomorrow.

You can 100% get the standard tech package without the upgrade. Picked up the same setup on Monday, so it’s possible!

I tried to find the same combo multiple dealers said not possible one said maybe but would be special order but would be a long wait. Ended up with the premium package with the advanced tech pkg. But here is the deal though. The advanced tech pkg just addeds the front and side cameras which you think will be big help off-road but the camera quality is crap and they are pretty much useless 75% of the time. So I would just stick with the tech pkg. I do not regret the premium pkg though due to some of the nice features it adds.

I actually contacted Toyota USA and this is what their CS team came back with:

”We appreciate the opportunity to clarify that per page 27 of the Tacoma brochure it is not possible to have the Advanced Technology Package without the TRD Premium Off-Road Package“

Not sure I see what they are referencing in the brochure, but it sounds like you cannot get the advanced tech package without the premium package. Boo.

The advanced tech package dude is not worth it, the camera quality is garbage, just get the regular tech package and LED package if you want those too.

I've been running in to a similar problem. Looking for a ORDC with premium package, but not the advanced tech. I think this is possible. However, I want the LED headlight package too, option LG, and my dealer (norcal) is saying that he's only seen that come with the advanced tech package which I definitely don't want.
This is turning out to be a question for a new thread, but I'll leave it here in case anybody on this thread happens to know.
