Getting Amped up for a Yota thread

Im a newby, havent gotten a tacoma yet. New here and this forum is awesome! But, like the header states, im super stoked about it! The tacoma in my opinion, is the ultimate vehicle. Ive grown up owning gm vehicles. Trucks with the 350 v8 on up to the 6.6 turbo diesel. But the quality is missing and it irks me. These toyotas are also more american made than any of my chevys were minus maybe the early 90's 5.7 and thats quite a statement.

But lets get right to it, i created this thread to share my newfound love for the tacoma and how i was connected to it. And to hear the stories of how others feel about it and what brought them to owning a tacoma. My neighbor has a 87 with a 22re, flatbead with a 5 inch lift and 35's. Bad Baaad truck. 300k plus miles. Now im a car guy, ive loved toyota but just havent yet pulled the trigger on one. But after fixing all my buddies chevys, seeing the horrible quality of all these other makes. Man, a tacoma just fits. Im all in.

Im a fan of them all, but id like a 2001-2010 range. The 3.4 or 4.0 works great for me. Id go 4 inch lift on 33's with the trd off road setup. Say i find one with a clean, rust free frame. After that what are common issues any of you have had? I have a fairly descent feel for the trucks but others stories are always the best. What are the strengths youve noticed with your trucks? What are some adventures, trips, mods youve done to your truck? I wanna hear it all. These rigs are great, and i cant wait to snag one. Thanks again guys for anything added to the thread!
