After being on this site a while, here is my best advice to you: LOG OFF OF YOUR ACCOUNT AND NEVER LOOK AT TACOMAWORLD AGAIN! I got mine in March and started looking at this blog and all there is on here is a bunch of downers and whinny people! I read about the transmission fluid and idling problems and actually just took mine to Toyota last Friday to have it looked at because I had the same "issues" as the people with low transmission fluid. It was in perfect shape and NOTHING was wrong with it. They explained to me that it was just how this new motor ran etc. The 2016 Tacomas are FANTASTIC and I wouldn't trade it for any other vehicle in the world. If I were you I would get it. I have just about stopped looking at this site because it has driven me paranoid afraid something was wrong with my truck! I hope this advice is helpful! I wouldn't want these stupid people that downs the new Tacoma from making the best decision in your life!

The only thing that will change in 2017 will be the year. Just buy it now and enjoy it!

This site is mostly bs but can be very helpful. Yes there are issues from the factory with low atf fluid, dry u joints on the drive shaft that need to be lubed, there's a whistle that happens between 30-50 mph that can be fixed via a TSB due to holes on the lower control arm that they fill with plugs and u bolts in the rear axle that need to be torqued. Once you do that you'll be just fine. No other issues. If you've found the truck you want at a good price then have the dealer fix these things prior to taking delivery. I would have no issue buying my truck over again.

My best advice is stop reading all the negative stuff and just enjoy your truck when you get it.

Pick it up, enjoy it, and get ready to do the Tacoma Nod. This is when you are at the light and look over and see a person in a Tacoma and you automatically nod in agreement that they are great trucks.

Love my truck and would buy again. The people complaining about the truck do not understand what the truck was designed for by Toyota. Exception with the common low fluid and no grease in the drive line which every vehicle has issues. You don't see a list of issues from other cars bc their owners don't break down and build there vehicles so they have no idea what is right or wrong. If people actually read into the design of the engine, transmission, and drive line then they would know its a very well built vehicle. And for the people that think the 2nd gen was better only judge numbers on the paper and relative feel of it driving which is just judging a book by its cover.

Honestly, get the price locked in for a 2017. They hit the ground in 2-3 months.

Year newer on resale, and warranty, little quirks worked out (hopefully)

There wont be any changes for the 2017, or at least from what I have heard.
The small changes usually happen every 2 years so expect 2018 to have some small cosmetic changes.

A lot of Fiats are sold in America...they just have a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep emblem on them that confuses some folks.
