I'm getting a new flowmaster exhaust system on my 07 sport dbl cab 4x4 this weekend. I looked at a ton of other threads n videos on the 40 and 50 series; true dual; single; single in and dual out. I can't decide what I like best. I'm thinking about the single in/dual out 40 series with 2.5'' single into 2.25'' dual. At least that's what the guy at the shop suggested because it's just a little v6. I want the deep throaty sound without losing alot of performance. I already got the K&N cold air intake which helps alot. What's everybody else got/think. I'm kind of undecisive.

    getting there....
i'd just go with a single in/out muffler and run it in the stock muffler locatiom, with the factory piping. with a dual exhaust...you can actually lose a few hp/torque.

I have the flowmaster 40 single in dual out. It is about as deep of sound as I could get it. The YouTube clip is in the video section under 05 Tacoma flowmaster 40 or something. Should still be on the first page.

Ok, goin with the flowmaster 40 series single in/out catback this friday. Guy at the shop said the pipes are great and would be a waste of money to put new flowmaster pipes on. Not duing the dual because I want to keep my performance. I'll just tuck it a way a bit just before the bumper with a black tip. Dont know about the headers though. I could get the DTL headers but there spendy for how little they do and I was told I'd have to replace the gaskets often with em

Jardine & DT are the same company. Jardine makes their motorcycle parts. But the package DT exhaust comes in says Jardine on the box. If you find some threads on here about Dt exhausts besides mine, please let me know. Thanks

Got the flowmaster 40 series and it sounds great! no cabin noise on the freeway either. Havn't had time to make up a sound clip because I've been working on the blacked out headlight mod all day. four to five hours my ass! lol looks really good though. I had no problems. Cant wait for the angry eyelids to complete the look of the headlights though. as soon as he makes em ima pick em up!

its really nice actually. i want to get headers for it too though. but its loud around 2000 RPMs and then it drops down some in sound. in the winter time it seems like it resonates more into the cab

    Hi All,

I was thinking a Flowmaster 40 series also for my 4.0. Local muffler shops are asking 180 bones for muffler and install. I think that is kinda high. They wanted 500 for the catback. THis was a flowmaster shop too. What should one expect to pay for the muffler swap?

    James
