Hey guys, first post in a while, need some advice. I recently had a frame rust inspection and I'm getting a new frame and other goodies. I've been told ill be receiving the TSB(or new factory 4 leaf springs)in the back replacing my original factory 3leafs. I'm putting Billie 5100s up front on 1.75, but I was also considering the toytech 1.5 AAL in the rear in addition to the TSB. Here's my question: Will the new factory rearshocks they install during the frame swap be enough(fit properly) with the TSB and the AAL? Thanks guys.

I believe factory rear shocks are good for 1.5" of lift--same as rear 5100s.

yes while you could run the stock rears with a 1.5in AAL.... the problem is they arnt valved well to begin with and add the extra spring rate and they will top out rather hard. spend the extra 150 bucks or so and get some 5100's for the rear as well.

Do you plan on doing any offroading and really stretching out the suspension?

If YES - you'll want to do some research and possible find the right shocks & shock length so they're not bottoming out on compression or droop.

Thanks for the replies guys. I will eventually put 5100s on the rear but it's not my daily driver(I have a 96 accord as my work-commuter), and I don't plan on doing any serious off road just hunting and fishing related. So I'll stick with the stocks for now and put 5100s back there when the money gets right. Thanks again.

Agreed. I have 5100s in the rear of mine because I thought it was silly to replace the rear springs, front shocks and coils, and leave the stock rear shocks.

FYI. stock rear shocks and 5100's have the same compression and extension lengths... you gain no travel with them, but valving and overall shock is much better on the 5100's vs stock.

Personally i went with the OME N182 rear shocks as they offer an extra 1.2in of down travel over the 5100's. They are the shock with the most travel you can get that will mount on the stock mounts and stockish thickness leaf pack (say a 3+1 stock pack with a single AAL or progressive AAL) and not have to worry about bottoming the shock before hitting bump stop.
