I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I don't think your going to be able to fit 285x75x16" with out wheel spacers or new rims.

if you have a 3" lift, you can fit them. you will just need spacers or new wheels. if you have the money, i'd get new wheels. yes, the spacers are going to be cheaper, but in the long run you'll always wish you got new wheels to go with those nice 285s

for the ~1" difference I would say go with 265's. Better gas mileage and less headache with fitment.

285s the trimming is nothing to worry about. After your done, you'll be like that was it...can't even tell, piece of cake, etc.

2 Spacers for the front or new rims for those Nittos

    265s? not even an upgrade

go 265's. no cutting, no trimming, no rubbing, no spacer needed, no cab-mount chop, better mpg, keep more of your hp and they still look good on a 3" lift. thats what i have on my truck :D

Not at all tiny. Just the right size. Thats the size I'm planning on using on my truck.

My bald 265 Terra grapplers look tiny on my truck. I like the look of Tacomanator's tires though. I just picked up 255/85/16 Trxus MT's off craigslist that i'll be mounting soon.

I just put 285s and TRD fj wheels on my tacoma that has 5100s and an aal in the rear and the trimming was so easy. I was questioning 265s also but I'm so happy I went with the 285s. Just take a razor and trim the black plastic liner there are how to's on this forum. I'm always easy on the pedal but I only noticed about a 2mpg drop with my 285s. Fj wheels are relatively cheap compared to other aftermarket wheels and they also come with lugnuts which is nice so you don't have to source them for your new wheels.

Remember, there's an inch of difference between 265/70R16 (factory size) and 265/75R16 (oversize)

In a 17" rim, you can split the diff and do 275/70R17 in a BFG AT/TA (or MT??)

I went 285, because I decided the size was what I wanted and I'm willing to trim plastic and body cab mount to fit. Cut plastic last night. Still waiting to see if cab mount chop is necessary - haven't wheeled it hard yet.

x2 . a lot of people dont seem to understand this, they hear "265" and automatically think stock tire size.

I was running 285x75s Terras on my stock 16 trd rims with my 3 inch procomp lift with no problems. I only had minor rubbing on the UCA at full turn.
