I've got 5100s with stock springs but will be moving to 888s in a month.
I used the floor jack method to get the springs back on the shocks and was wondering if I will be able to use the same method to get the 888s on? Worried about the springs being to stiff and lifting the whole truck up st some point without the top sock bolt entering the mount hole on top enough for me to get the nut on.
Any info would be great. If I have to take the shocks to a shop and get them mounted I will.

I have 886s and that’s the way I did it. I know 888s are longer, but 886s are stiffer.
In other words, I can’t answer your question, but I think it’ll work....
