Still an issue. You need to understand its width that's the issue not height .
If you want the tire for actual performance and want the clearance 255 85 16 is your best bet .

Understand that 0 offset or negative offset increases your likelihood of hitting body mount.

I have 265/70/17 tires, +1.75" lift..and I rub a bit still in full reverse, turning quick and specially offroading while in a turn. Granted my wheel specs are different (17x9, 4.53 backspacing, -12 offtset) but..

So it's really about having the offset to not rub on the UCA, while not having so much that you rub on the body mount to my understanding...

I appreciate the suggestion but I would be too embarrassed to drive my truck with pizza cutters. 265's are already lacking that stance I'm looking to achieve.

It’s an obstacle that no one has really cracked without modifications or straight up long travel.

I had a 2.5" lift and still had rubbing on the UCA. I used 1" spacers to solve it until I got a set of TRD Pro wheels. No need for spacers with them because they have a different offset than the OR wheels. It did still rub on the OEM mud flaps so I replaced them with rokblokz

I'm not aware of any offset they offers both .
From what I've found as soon as you go wide enough to not rub UCA you rub body mount.

And you basically answered what I was wondering lol it's all for looks.

You are going to rub on everything.

Step 1. Put shit on truck

    Step 2. Cut shit

Step 3. Touch yourself and post pics of truck

8”wide +0 wheel may give a few mm more clearance for UCA.

Do you think you would've been OK with the 1" spacer but no lift?

Yup, function but mostly looks. It's kind of funny how big of a difference going 10mm wider makes as far as looks go.

I don’t know who those people are or how they drive but I had to trim the fuck out of everything to fit my 33s including a CMC. I also have a 2”+ lift.

I can't say for sure but probably not. I did the lift before buying the tires based on reading about others experiences

OP, it's your choice. Put them on and see what happens. Based on my experience you won't be able to drive it. I have the whole shabang 2.5" suspension lift, CMC, Ray10, SPC LR UCAS, molded inner liner and still catch some plastic here and there.

You cant run 285s on stock height without a lot of trimming, CMC, and a big fucking hammer (BFH). Even then you might be pushing it.

Alright. Verdict is 275/70/17. Will post pics when installed in about a week or so.

    Thanks for all the input.

Good choice. I'm running 33's with a 3' lift and new control arms. Had to trim a lot and do the cmc, and still rub on the front side. With a zero offset wheel, you'll be sitting the same as a stock OR wheel with 1.25" spacers. Even with new UCA's, you'll need zero offset to avoid the spindle. Stock suspension with 33's would be such a headache for you, go for 275/70/17.

    all tore up already
2.5" lifted and just a little rubbing on the fender lining when turning into steep hills. Cmc and trimmed a bit off the fender flare, spc uca but nothing too drastic. Coopers and 4r pro wheels Been on over 10k and haven't worn through fender liner so any rub is minimal. Dont be scared just buy the wheels and tires you want and figure it all out later!

285/75r16, Tacoma Pro wheels, OEM mud flaps, 2nd gen Pro lift (about 2”)....no rubbing at all, no cutting, no BFH was ever needed haha

Clears UCA’s by about 1/4” given if I took it off roading often that would def be an issue but it’s my daily
