I would like to say I am neither of those, since one I am making babies, and two I support the war on Terror, I've been driving a 4x4 pickup for 5 years now, and hate Coexist bumper stickers, along with most San Diego, CA people

I would try and get something with a 3rd row for the safety sake of your kids. I dont advise 3 children all in the back seat just in case you get in a wreck. But hope you never do.

I say keep them both. If you have the parking space. Your so close to OWNING your truck. No payments is a good feeling. Because you'll have no more payments you can get a van or suv if you like. You don't want to regret getting the one thing that gave you your independance.

That's an easy one. Trade the prius for a 4runner. The tacoma is almost paid for and set up the way you like it. Why have 3 kids and two new car notes a year from now? Plus all the regret from selling YOUR tacoma.

What? How is 2 kids in the back seat and 1 in the third row seat any safer than 3 in the back seat? safest spot is the center of the back seat and if there's only two in the back seat they will be sitting near the door anyway. That's what side curtain airbags are for. Wouldn't want to be rear ended with someone sitting in the third row seat either. Rather have all three kids in the back of my double cab. I have 3 kids 13, 9 and 2. Sold my '01 extra cab for a '09 double cab about 6 months after my third was born. No problems here.

The prius is great if it's just a commuter car but totally useless for a family vehicle. Sell the prius and keep the taco. The Honda Pilot my wife drives has been a great vehicle. 8 passenger seating, comparatively comfortable third row seat even for an adult and awesome traction control. Those wheels never slip.

I say if you need to change it. Get yourself a Highlander. Tons of room, split folding hideable third row. Seriously, More space than you'll need. It's no a minivan, no quite an SUv just something in the middle. Keep the truck, you will regret it if you get rid of it.

Do nothing today!!! LOL You have a few years before you will need a third seat. Pay off BOTH vehicles and decide when you have a need for that third seat....

The problem with that is that

    1. Cost to insure a vehicle, 3rd vehicle or not, is not inexpensive
    2. Once one of his babies turns 16, a lot of insurance companies automatically require that child to be the "primary driver" for that vehicle, and you get screwed that way too.
But that's another 10 years down the road, so...

You're actually in very good shape, and I agree with Kingfrog: do nothing until you're absolutely sure of what you want. You have a GREAT truck that's nearly paid for, and has LOW mileage. I'd be tempted to work with that, there's plenty of room in it, although it's not your stereotypical "family" vehicle.
You also own a Prius which has great resale value and demand, especially as gas prices go up. My assumption is that you still want/need 2 vehicles, and both are winners.
I picked up an '08 Prius for my wife last summer, it's perfect for her because she's handicapped (had a stroke a few years ago), and the Prius is hands-down the easiest car for her to drive. The MPG is great, and it's one of the most comfortable small cars I've ever driven. Cool? HELL no. Smart? HELL yes! :D
When considering other options like the 4Runner, Highlander, or Sienna, don't forget to check out the Venza. You can also get AWD on it, and it makes a great family car.

If I had kids I wouldn't want them to be in a small car like a Prius, too unsafe in an accident. I say keep the Taco and trade the Prius for a SUV (4Runner has a third row seat option).

Screw it, sell the Prius and get a H2!!!! :p :crapstorm:

In all honesty, I'd just stick with what you got. I have a 4Runner and anytime we have one of the kid's friends over (mine are 6 and 9) we just take the 4Runner, it works fine. Both my kids are in boosters and sometimes we fit a 3rd booster in ok in either vehicle.
