Got exactly what I wanted which was also what I could easily afford. No point in settling just to be unhappy in the end.

    1. I always get what I want that is within my budget. If you don't buy what you want the first time you will end up regretting it and going from say a TRD Offroad to a TRD Pro costing thousands in the process.
    2. Honestly it depends on what stage you are in your life. I have a great stable job, a wife with the same in terms of a job and a place to live that I am happy in. If you do not have those things (minus the wife) I would not put myself in the hole for a vehicle.
    3. I could have gotten by with an Access cab at the moment but if we have a kid or hell even loading parents/dog etc would have been a bit of a pain. I went Double cab in the end because of "future considerations." Mods are not cheap and nor will they ever be. More of a labor of love and depends if you like DIY.
    4. Make sure you are happy and can afford it. I know too many people say on the Alberta oil rigs that made well over $100000 a year being rig pigs. Now all their GMC 3500s and F350s are being repoed. $75000 truck with $15000 worth of mods all based on a job that disappeared overnight. Don't be one of those guys please.

I got the Truck I wanted and can afford and am happy, also would have liked a Cement Pro but that is out of my budget.

Pruchase what you want, need & can afford. But sacrafice may be needed, but don't buy more truck than you want need or.can afford.

Mods can be cheap or expensive. Depending what you do. I bought the second more basic truck avaliable because that's all i wanted and needed. I could have afforded more, but why? I'm not buying a vehicle to show off. I buy it because i want & need one.

I bought a '16 SR I-4 AC 4x4 & I almosy skipped the 4x4 because I've never needed 4x4 in the 12 years of driving around the midwest. I got it because it's a hell of a lot easier to sell the truck if I had too. It holds its resale value better, only lose 1 or 2mpg and a extra $1500. So... It was better to get it vs not IMO.

If I could go back, I would habe added the 'Convenience package'. It added a set of wheels, keyless entry & alarm. It would have been worth the extra $400, but oh well...

    And mine cost me $24,991

I wanted a 4runner but I couldn't afford a 4runner TRD OR (Trail) so i bought another Tacoma. I love my Tacoma a lot but then again each time i see a 4runner, i want one so bad.

One day i'll have a 4runner, one day...!
