@GHOST SHIP, Would you be conferrable installing this if it comes as a DIY kit? Thoughts on welding warping the rear end?

The above picture is prior to torquing everything down so I could install the crossbar.

I pie cut @jojotoo ’s exhaust so he could keep the last hanger but still avoid contact with leaf pack droop.

Thank you! The exhaust has me worried, the hanger will be in path of hot exhaust gases while driving.
I recommend chopping it on the downward slope. One customer melted the poly bushings he installed in the shackles with his exhaust

I’ll make sure he keeps an eye on it, Eric. Thanks for bringing that up. BTW, I made sure to torque everything down to stock specs on the kit. I can see why you recommended that.

I’ll be placing my order once I revisit my rear suspension soon.

    Looking good Serg.

I usually use the piece I cut off the pipe to make a tiny turn down.

here’s a pic. It’s not the best pic I had, but I wanted to use a pic that had Eric’s hangers on it.

I was actually going to do that to an oil filter cap. Glad I didn't do that.

How have I missed this thread? I need to look around sometimes.

I have many of your welds on my truck, probably need a few more.

    And a cmc.

Let me know Andy! How you been? Hunkering down like everyone else I’m sure. I still pop in to the 50s thread every so often. I just turned 40 this year so I should probably join the “get off my lawn” thread.

To be fair I’ve been using that same adapter for a few years now always on my 1/4” makita. It finally gave up the ghost today. I have 3 more in my toolbox just like it but I may actually look for an impact rated version.

I have an oil filter tool from craftsman that I really like. Adjustable to different sizes as opposed the the size specific cups.

I was thinking of using it on my 1/2" impact... That would not have turned out well at all. As for that oil filter wrench, I don't know if that would work as it's those cheapo plastic cover ones, so it requires that one with the flutes.

Hey brother, good to see you're still keeping busy during these times.

Wondering if you've done a rear shock relocation yet on a 1st gen? I know we talked briefly about it :burp:

6C89DF03-F707-4033-A124-24E7A4B83857.jpg I could not be happier with my sliders! Exactly what I wanted with extra flex of them being custom to what I wanted. Went wheeling and had a few guys ask where I got the extra badassery and had to point them this way.

These are low profile but still super useful and have plenty of space to still be used as a step to access the bed. 57C98AEB-4E11-4691-B65A-3A2C1103DB38.jpgD6FD80E6-1939-4C4B-A2DF-1BDFBE2609FA.jpg

The angles are perfect. Any way you look at the cab, the sliders are PERFECTLY parallel. It’s amazing. It changed the entire appearance of the truck and now I have the reassurance of safety without sacrificing style.
