LSK coil bucket/UCA gussets installed today on @08BajaBoy ’s second gen. It’s a little refreshing to see a purpose built truck come in for the heavy duty work. Combined with LSKs upper and lowers, it’s a beefy setup. I had previously installed MarlinCralwer LCA gussets and performed a CMC on this same truck about a year ago.

BTW, if you guys think getting the UCA bolt out is a bitch, wait until you have to do it multiple times on a truck with UCA gussets welded in place. The wider footprint created by the gussets requires a lot more room for the bolt to be backed out to the point that you’re interfering with the core support.

Bolt on sliders for @ahom Now if I can just get around to designing and building a front bumper, he’d have protection on all 4 sides built by me.

I finally got my jig worked out for DCSBs. Now I just need a long bed for mock up and I’d be all set.

@GHOST SHIP thanks for the shout out. Now I just need to save up from my shock purchase to get those @ARCHIVE rear shock relocation brackets burned in. Also, I have been thinking about how we can incorporate the shock tower brace into the tire carrier...:stirthepot::sawzall:

For anyone out there thinking about getting some work done by Sergio, his workmanship is second only to his customer service. Quality dude.

BAMF shock relocation today on @Dr3w ’s ginormous truck. That 6” lift just looks so proper though. 7100s setup to have 1/2-3/4” of shaft showing at full bump.

here’s the recovery points as they pass through the bumper.

There’s a lot “hidden” welds that I still need to burn. In that pic I welded the lower portion of the backside where the bumper mounting plates meet the outer skin of the bumper but not the rest. The only reason I welded the bottom was because I knew it’d be harder to get to once the shell of the bumper was added. I keep adding beads as I add more plate to places that I know I’ll be covering access to.

As I start to smooth out my welds I see a bunch of these little guys.

Divots where I didn’t build up the weld puddle enough. My personal standards won’t let that fly, so I go back in and fill those spots:

A little more time with a flap disc and sander and I get the smooth finish I’m after:

The extra time here is purely cosmetic but will be an eyesore to me once the bumper is completed and coated. I fell like the attention to detail is what separates a good home built bumper from a “I can tell you built that” bumper.
