The optical illusion happening here with that spring is giving me anxiety. :anonymous:

Got a couple big projects out of the shop this weekend.
Sliders installed on @LiquidArrogance ’s third gen. He made a quick stop during his tour of the lower 48. Always a fan on the kickout with 1/2 plates.

Install day. Finally got another big project out of the shop.
One of the last Pelfreybilt bumpers from the warehouse sale. @rangergs007 found this gem on OfferUp but it was incomplete and missing a bunch of key components to finish. (Funny enough, I had a few people message me about this same bumper before it sold but he beat everyone to the purchase.) It was bare steel and had some surface rust which is expected since it’s been sitting for so long, but the main body of the bumper was mostly complete. So with some parts from 4XInnovations, I built and added the swingout with double Jerry can holder and drop-down table on the inside. Little odds and ends finish it off like making my own camera relocate, adding provisions for backup sensors and wiring in the Baja Designs S2s for backup lights.

Are you using self-tapping screws for those 1/2" (1/4"?) cable guides for the backup camera wiring? I'm using adhesive-backed ones currently, but I've been thinking about getting something more permanent.

Some nudes of work in progress:
Yes- Self tapping. FWIW, I’m always super cautious of drilling into completed projects so I predrilled the holes and added some permatex gasket maker before tightening the bolts. They’re under the swingout arm, but I still treat them to seal everything up. If you look at your local hardware store for self tapping screws used in metal siding or roofing applications, they have some that come painted and have a washer with a foam gasket attached for an added seal. I use those often enough and haven’t had an issue with leaks.

I was hesitant about doing it for precisely that reason. Thanks for the advice!

The stick on zip tie tabs have their place, but it think there is always a different way to do things depending on application. It’s always good to have options. Had I thought about it before sending the bumper to powdercoating, I would’ve added weld-on zip tie tabs.

Figured out this morning that those kickouts are also really handy for smashing bags of ice... I'd been throwing them on the ground up until now which inevitably always ended up getting dirt in my ice chest

Thanks Brandon. Always a quality product with BD. I’ve installed a bunch of your lights on customer cars and have a few on my personal rides.

I still have my first black flag shirt I got when I was a kid. Wore the shit out of it all through high school- it looks like Victorian lace now.

:gossip: Might see that logo come up on some swag soon too.

    Just the basics
    I'm digging it too.

Although it now reminds me of this knockoff from a local band...
