Ok, fine. I did the second side today.
Used a DA sander before painting for that smooth finish.

About 2-2.5 hours per side. I took my time though. Letting the parts cool slowly and waiting for paint to dry is what really takes time on this job. If I had a spare set of spindles that I could weld on reinforcements before hand would make it a lot easier to just swap parts in.

Thanks again to Sergio for getting the lift on my 06. I swear it's going to stay stock. No more work after this. Those Icon RXT with Fox shocks are heaven to my back and ass on damn uneven L.A. roads. Silver Surfer Sergio.jpgSilver Surfer 0010.jpg Silver Surfer 0011.jpg

    Another busy weekend.

Full AccuTune install for @TacoLyfe867 and his super clean second gen. Got Kings on all 4 corners paired with AccuTune UCAs and bumpstops as well as Icon RXTs. He also got a cmc while we were in there. No pictures but maybe he has some he can share.

Installed a DRT CMR on @CaptainReverso ’s Lexus. Glad to have you back in the shop, Cap! :hattip:

Just for shits n gigs I’ll leave this here to help any of my fellow second gen guys out. I recently had to replace my keys (key and fob) and found out that the dealer wanted close to $300 for one set. It was about $25 for the key (plus $90 to cut and code the chip), and $120 for the fob (plus another $90 to code it to the truck). FWIW, the parts guy seemed like he wasn’t totally sure on those numbers so YMMV. I was given some story about how 2.5 gens have “new technology” that doesn’t allow manual programming, yadda yadda…. So, in true DIY fashion, I found a fob on Amazon for $15 and programmed it myself with the cheat code I found on YouTube. Enjoy:

I’m probably going to bite the bullet on the OEM key because I want the Toyota logo. Aftermarket keys just feel flimsy and cheap to me and that would bother me for something I use every single day.

Full day today installing Fox elite series, front superbumps, AccuTune UCAs and bumpstops, Icon RXTs on @PhamDee ’s third gen. He also got a cmc and viper cut in prep for his wheels and tires showing up later this week.

Finished it off with a “smashed the shit out of my finger” mod and now I’m at urgent care getting stitches. So points to this truck for officially being the worst garage injury for me. Haha.
