Haha can't relate to heels .But I do have a really really old broken pair of work boots that I used for 4x4 boots because they give me the best feel for when I'm on steep no turn back inclines.

Maybe keep a set of driving flats just in case?

My ex had the same issue. In my Xterra she sits up tall due to the seat position and her heels never rubbed. Her heels rubbed when she drives the 350Z.

    What a dilemma.....

The shifting is easy, it’s getting out and walking that I have the trouble with.

Well, what do we have here?!?!?

I see you have a manual transmission. I'd say barefoot would be the way to go. I can't imagine what driving with heels is like.
