Thanks guys, the two middle ones are HDR's. The first one is normal, and the last one I did a bit of retouching in photoshop. The mountains came out too flat because of the harsh weather, so I did a mix of layers to bring them back from the dead! Looks like an HDR now.

    I still use a Nikon D80 with a tripod and a 16-85mm VR lens :).

Whatever you do, I highly do NOT recommend coming to alaska in january-february. Those are the coldest months and it blows! But other than that, when the weather is good, it's amazing here!

I plan on buying some equipment like some lights and whatnot. Then I want to get a 50mm lens or a really nice telephoto lens (f2.8). Right now I have a 70-300mm VR zoom lens, it's still real nice, but the f2.8 telephoto is pro status :).

What do you mean by sp pandajerk? Btw, that one was a crazy moment. I was walking through the botanical gardens in hawaii and this catepillar started swingin down his web, I whipped out my camera in aperture mode and right as I was about to take it, he stood up like he was posing haha.

Personally, I wouldn't get the D80 nowadays. Technology advances insanely fast, especially with cameras. For example, if you bought the D90 when it first came out...within one year Nikon will release the next model for the same price but with completely improved technology. Right now, I'm waiting for the next model that will be after the D90, OR, if I'm feelin like investing a ton, then I will look into the D3xx series or whatever else comes out. If you have any questions just pm me, I'd be glad to help you out.

Thanks again guys for the comments, I really appreciate it!

Thanks man, I took my camera and tripod up the tram around 4pm and stood on top of a picnic table in front of the lodge up top. It was right on the viewing deck next to the round house, was an epic powder day!
