    Hey all

Planning a trip to glamis dunes december 29th-31st (want to be home for the ball drop)

There is another meet going down (yxz group for us side by side guys) that we will be attending.

So far @eccracer104 has shown some interest, but im putting it out there to not show favoritism :D

If you've never been, its off the 78 fwy (south side) in the middle of nowhere, part of the algodones dunes.

It is over 118,000 acres of open riding area. The dunes CAN me managed in 2wd with a locker (at your own risk), but 4wd is highly recommended. This is mainly a playground for ohv and you will see the mildest to wildest off road toys imaginable here. The dunes are typically 100-300ft tall and can be around about 500ft wide.

Attached are some videos and pictures as words cant really describe this offroad haven.

It is a dry camping spot with only sporadic pit style toilets and nothing else. The nearest town is 30min away, so bring what you need. The exact location has not yet been decided (it will be CROWDED). The vibe will mainly be loud and semi-party atmosphere, however we aren't really into that, so dont expect any 2am shit shows. Also will probably be doing a dune cleanup, so if you could bring trash bags and want to help picking up the mess from other negligent campers, that would be great.

I was somewhere on the loop off Gecko for Halloween. I have never been a fan of staying off Gecko. Too much of a pain in the ass with the toy hauler.

 Waiting to see if my brother will come out with his riding gear. Still on the fence, but chances are looking slim as I don't think he's checking a big bag with helmet and boots.
    I'll keep ya posted!

Fixed the generator carb in the toy hauler, and I might have my brother's razr to break in if it gets out the shop on time.

Also hoping to have the front end on my truck done by then to putt around out there.

That should be fine. We usually have a very large camp. Anywhere from 10-20 toy haulers and rv's. Lots of family, neighbors, friends, extended family, and acquaintances.

Ill be out there with my buggy. Usually Wash 7, but last time we all camped in Wash 3. If i can figure out this knock sensor issue I MIGHT bring the Taco.

For those who haven't been and not sure of if they can cruise around in the sand:
2WD: you can probably get to the hill via sand highway, definitely if aired down/locked.
4WD: you can cruise to/and up the hill, rip around some small dunes, suspension travel and driving skill is the limit.

Thank you @Ackrite for the hospitality but we (obviously) ended up bailing and went to dumont. Saw some pics and the crowds just looked insane for my liking.

Probably a good thing you did not try and contact me. I had zero reception from early afternoon on Friday til afternoon Monday. I just ended up leaving the phone in the truck.

The crowds always look big at Glamis, but the place is so big that it never bothers me. I also like staying in the washes because you can actually accommodate a large group. At Gecko, you have to pack in like sardines in awkward positions and can never get leveled.

It is now time to bump the King of the Hammers thread.
