Reviving this. Man this is really bothering me a lot recently with the sun low in the sky this time of year. Recon there is a TSB for this :D

I love the looks of the scoop but the glare is a real problem especially for me since I wear glasses.

Yep, had the glare. Imagine it could be pretty bright when ya got the hood all polished up.

It only happens to me in the Winter.. I've been driving in my truck for almost a year now, so I'm kindof used to it.

To each his own, I like my scoop and its been quite some time since I was 15 yrs old. I cant understand buying a Taco w/o 4wd but just my opinion.

I know a few people have installed a flat finish vinyl on the scoop to cut the glare down

Is the scoop metal? You could buy some magnetic sheeting, cut it to shape and place it on the scoop.

I made some knee panels for my motorcycle tank out of this stuff.

I had the same problem with my WRX. So annoying. At least that scoop was functional though!

I'm going to revive this thread again - has anyone tried a clear film (i.e. clear paint protection film similar to that which is applied to the front of Toyota hoods)?

my not-perfect solution (waxed SWB scoop gets very shiny): a mahogany block that I can put my phone in. The shot with the sun's reflection is taken from my line of vision - the sun is exactly where my phone would be to block it, were I not using it to take that photo.
