Not a good morning... idiots didn't steal anything just broke the glass and rummaged around. Anyone know if all the 3rd gens have the same front left glass? I have a 2021 SR5, and everything i've found says the replacements will work for 2016-2018's so I'm not sure.

Buying glass on eBay is risky. Check out car-part.com for salvage yards in your area. They are going for $100 around me.

That sucks, sorry it happened. Safelitte should be around 250. The used glass is best route as air force mentioned

Not a very healthy thing to do. I mean getting into an unlocked car is one thing but busting a window...?
    On a Tacoma ???

    No respect. None.

    Police report for sure.

That mount on your dash was an advertisement that some electronic device worth stealing was inside somewhere.
Sorry it happened to you though. The feeling of being violated is as bad as the repair cost.

Sure insurance will cover it but most deductibles exceed the cost of this repair. So it makes sense to tackle it yourself or get a shop to do it for cash money

exactly... with a $500 deductible, might as well just do it myself and avoid the insurance hit.

And you bet I made a police report... not that I expect anything will come of it.

Good point @grandpawmoses... I should put that away. Funny thing is they opened my center console and left the gps sitting there :der:

They usually look for weapons (mostly firearms). Trucks are a huge target unfortunately.

You can get clear tint film on the front window and the glass will break but they won’t be able to get into the truck

Not even worth it, most people will have a $500 deductible. If if they have a $250 deductible, still not worth it.

    Dobinsons 2" lift, 33s....other stuff
I used to believe that, but it seems like people just break in to see what they can find whether it's obvious or not. I've had multiple vehicles broken in to with nothing visible at all,no electronics, no cords, mounts etc. It's a real problem in Colorado Springs for whatever reason.

Ford has been putting laminated side glass in the trucks(and maybe other stuff) for a few years now. People still break in; they jam a pry bar in, fuck up your pillar and pry the window out...it's more work for them so maybe it deters the lazy shit heads but the determined ones will still get in, now not only do you have to get glass, but you have to go to the body shop too!....ask me how I know:mad:.

That sucks OP, at least they didn't get any thing of value. Like others said, insurance will be more pain than it's worth. File a police report though, they won't be able to do anything for you, but at least it's on record and if it becomes a problem area you will get some more patrols and at least that's a deterrent. Just curious, do you live on a dead end street or culdesac?

My D side rear window was destroyed by a rock a few months ago, I have glass coverage and insurance just covered it through safelite. I've had to replace a few windshields over the years and glass coverage was always worth it for me.
