I agree, and it is nice to see that GLOCK is trying to make some changes that other manufacturers have already done. I too will wait and see. I do not think that the new Gen 5's will be that great of an improvement over what I already have. Will I eventually get a Gen 5, more than likely yes. I am hoping that the Gen 5's will also encompass more than the G17 and G19 though. Otherwise I would consider this more of a Gen 4.5 upgrade.

I'm probably in the minority but I liked the finger grooves and I'm disappointed they're going away

I do like the idea of a flared mag well though

I think that is definitely a step in the right direction with the flared mag well.

I also like the finger grooves; never had any issues with them even with large hands, and that is why I think that the Gen 4's will continue to be around and manufactured for quite some time; much like the Gen 3's. I would have much rather seen the undercut trigger guard. That to me would have been a far better "upgrade" over the loss of the finger grooves.

That's never bothered me either haha

Honestly I would've preferred something closer to the RTF2 plus beveled slide and front serrations and flared mag well but they can't cater to one person so I'll keep running my current guns

I actually kind of wish I didn't just buy my 19 earlier this summer. The gen 5 looks very nice. I'm curious if it's going to still be 399 for blue label. When they come out with a 26 I might go look at one. And will most likely walk out with it.

That's my problem. And they know why I'm there as soon as I walk into the door. It was a financial mistake becoming friends with the guys who work at the gun store.

A little of this and a little of that.
As a lefty, I'm glad to see Glock add a slide lock to the "other" side of the frame on the Gen 5.

I don't mind the finger grooves on my Gen 4 model 19, but I realize many people don't like them on the Gen 4 guns, so the absence of finger grooves on the Gen 5 doesn't bother me at all.

    I'll get a Gen 5 model 17 or 34 MOS when available.

And yeah, I buy ammo online because going to a gun store for ammo is detrimental to my savings account.

The local Glock blue label dealer that I frequented when I was a cop posted a pic of BOXES upon BOXES labeled 17x and 19x

I'm far less likely to pick one up these days since I no longer get blue label pricing

i heard the blue label ones won't be available until early sept at the latest. Hopefully they're the same price. I would really like one, but i don't need one. Like I've said before, once there is a 26 out, ill go "check one out" as us gun guys would tell their wives.

LOL but really, not that interested until the 26 is released.

BTW retired Leos qualify for blue label... at least retired FFs do.
