The TLR series is good, except the 300/400. Only 100 Lumens and meant for compact pistols but they are still big for being compact. I really really like Inforce APLs now, and they also have a compact.

I had an Inforce light split right down the middle of its fiber body on me. I didn't overtighten it and hadn't even shot it on a gun. It seems like they iterate often and make improvements, but they're not quite up to snuff for me yet. If they had fit a CR123 in the APLC I would give it a try, but I don't want to have to keep CR2s around. They do look good though - a buddy keeps one on his G19.

For strictly indoor I wouldn't get something too bright. Last thing you want is to be blinded by your own light.

As what's been said, Surefire and Streamlight. Inforce are notorious for their bodies falling apart.

Agree 90%. The only reason I'd pay more is to get the max amount of lumens as possible from a light source.

This has been disproven over and over again. Please stop perpetuating falsehoods.

The first thing you want when you're waking up in the middle of the night with your pupils wide open is a 400 lumen light reflecting off your walls back at you.

I agree with this somewhat. You do want the ability to engage in low light but you shouldn't rely on it solely. The reason you want a WML is to ascertain the threat level in general. If you have kids or a spouse that works late or what have you, well you know where I'm going with this. Also depending on your state of residence unless the perp has a weapon you may be criminally liable for engaging since you did not have a accurate threat assessment.

    Have a read.

"For my purposes I need to be able to smoothly transition from indoors to outdoors during the same incident."

That guy needs a bright light because he uses it outdoors.

For STRICTLY indoor, like the person asked about, a 100 lumen flood light is going to be just as usable as a 400 lumen. And it'll be less expensive and less power hungry.

That guy has to clear buildings that he is unfamiliar with, so the stuff he's saying about light bouncing off mirrors and lighting up extra areas etc doesn't apply in this situation. When your eyes are adjusted to darkness you can still make out shapes. In your house you know what should be around the corner and what shouldn't be. When you see something that isn't familiar, light it up and assess. You don't need 400 lumens for that.

I own and carry both. Currently have the Shield on my ankle, Glock 19 ain't fun to carry on ankle lol. I much prefer my Glock 19 for carry, feel of it in my big hands, capacity, and overall shooting of the Glock, but feel the Shield has its place for ME also. Haven't shot the Shield much lately but seems I'm about equal with either Glock 19 or Shield.

Gen 4 1507741444449858021159.jpg 15077416469011971196680.jpg Glock 19 (not my 1st choice. Really wanted a H&K VP9 but, wanted to save money and ended up spending that "saved" money on bringing the Glock up to where the VP9 was already at). Put ext. Mag release,ZEV spring kit (ended up taking the firing pin spring out because of light primer strikes),dremel'd the trigger guard for stronger purchase on the gun and put some Trijicon STEEL sights on it..why Glock continues to use plastic sights,I don't know.
After all that I'm happy with it, although I still want a VP9. And yes... it would've worked like it was stock but, it works better now. Still isn't as comfy as the VP9 or a Walther or a Sig but, it goes bang when I pull the trigger.

Now onto my Apocalyptic Prophet Gun ( name given to it by a dear Marine friend of mine)

The 1st gen COONAN .357 MAGNUM. No further description necessary.

I met Dan Coonan a few years ago at Knob Creek. He's a very humble down to earth guy.

If you buy a proper Glock with night sights...they're not plastic
