Eh, for the price of one of those frames I'd just have the professionals at ATEI modify it instead. Pricing for frame work is further down the link I'll tag here.

I'd argue that shooting insurance makes you look more guilty than a slightly lighter trigger.

That's the thing I hate about case law. What may not be precedent today could become the new standard tomorrow, sometimes for better, others for worse.

Just got an e-mail from The Glock Store with their ad for new Tungsten guide rods for the 5th gens. Anyone here have any experience with this guide rod? I'm thinking it's mostly gimmick. Supposedly it reduces recoil and muzzle flip by replacing the plastic guide rod with Tungsten. It's pricey at $79.95.

I have it on my G19 Gen 4. I think I put 1 magazine through it stock. Replaced the guide rod, trigger, mag release, slide release's (including the break down release), trigger....AAAAAND I think thats it.

It is NOT a gimmick. The extra weight will surprise you. Helps with muzzle lift quite a bit.

Edit: I have the Stainless but the tungstein is a bit heavier. I was actually thinking of getting it just to see if its better, thats how much I like it.

That made me wince. I can't imagine having a gun pointed at my weewee all the time. And how the hell do you sit down in a car like that?

Yeah, when a weapon is IWB it's pointed pretty close to some body parts regardless. It's quite safe as long as you're not an idiot and know to clear obstructions when holstering a weapon.

A cowboy was attending a wedding and was carrying a pistol on his side as he always does and then was approached by an elderly woman asking, "young man, are you expecting trouble?" pointing towards his Colt Single Action Army. He chuckles responding in kind, "No ma'am, if I was expecting trouble I would've brought my rifle."

I know. I carry at 4 o clock iwb and owb. Been doing it for almost 20 years and never shot myself, but having any gun pointing at Mr happy just sits uneasy with me. If, and most likely never something happened, I'd rather lose some hip meat than the twig and berries.

I'm not fat and I can see my junk without having suck in my gut. But yes, if you want to carry and think you are going to use it for protection, you should have some level of fitness and dexterity to actually use it if ever needed.
I wince when i see videos of people mishandling guns.

And to make this Glock related again, my polymer 80 v2 G17 lower finally shipped. Hopefully I can get it by friday and spend the weekend putting it all together.

Definitely let us know your first impressions as well as follow up. I'm interested to know if that thing is actually worth the investment or not.

I have a buddy that owns one of the bigger ranges here in the Dallas area. I've been there plenty of times and seen a lot, and heard more. I've been muzzle swept a few times at the range and had to have a coming to Jesus moment with a man 20 years older than me about safety.

Here's most of my Glock collection. Bought the G17 in 2001 and the collection has kind of grown since then. I shoot competitively and carry the G43 and G19 often.
