Anyone have any feedback on the Glock 19X? I’m ordering one this weekend from my buddies Gun shop to have him customize, but I’ve found another one used for $500. Would it be terrible to have 2? I’d leave the used one alone and probably keep it in the truck since I don’t have any unmodified pistols I’d risk losing to a thief. Tell me I’m dumb, or the smartest man alive..... never even handled one so that’s where I’m at.

It's a great pistpl, but why leave one in a vehicle and give it away for free to some dirtbag

I was about to say the same thing. If you leave it in your truck get a Console Vault if you don't already have one.

I realize there’s risk involved, it’s why I’ve never carried my expensive stuff around with me. I won’t be carrying it on me when I exit the truck, so it will have to stay in the truck during the day. I’ve been kicking around the idea of buying a police trade-in Glock 22 for $300 and calling it done, but then this 19X popped up.

That’s a good idea for sure! I’ll have to research those again, looked into them a while back but never bought one because at the time I was on a kick where I didn’t ever remove my suppressor from the pistol so it had to live in the locked glovebox due to the size.

Just found this... always finding new stuff in Tacomaworld.
I have a Glock 43 +2 mag extensions and a Alien gear IWB 4.0 for carry.
I went with the 43 for my first carry but have been for 8 months now and looking to step up.
The question: Anyone Carry a G17? Looking between that and a 19 just not sure the size difference would matter. Due to that I’m coming from a 43 the round difference between the 17&19 is not a concern.

I have both a 17 and 19, there isnt much difference between the two size wise. That being said i prefer the 19 normally and the only time i'll carry the 17 is during cooler months when i have a hoodie on.

The 19 will be more “comfortable” depending on your body type and carry location. The 17 is pretty big... people carry them but since you’re coming from a 43, I’d say try the 19 first.

For carry purposes I would go with the 19....smaller and easier to conceal. I do carry my 31 with a light under certain clothing tho.

Thanks everyone. The 43 is great for carry I just have large hands and the 19 +17 feel better haven’t shot either yet so I’m prob going to start there. As for body type I’m 6’2 260. Tried appendix and hated it so it’s hip at 3-4oclock. The only thought I had with the 17 was sitting. But if I use the holster I have I can set it to ride high and think it would be fine. But I’m leaning towards the 19. Holster wise I can get the shell for either for my current system for 30 so I’m going to start there. Any thoughts on holsters?

@BulletToothTony seems to always have a couple 19 holsters for sale.

Don't overlook the 26. I know several people that carry them and are very happy with them. You can carry it w/ a shorter 26 mag in the mag well and a spare 19 or 17 mag in your pocket.

I didn’t overlook but puts me in the same spot as my 43. I’d need the mag extensions to get a full grip. I’m trying to get away from that to help smooth mag changes. With the 26 after dropping the mag I still have my pinky not on the grip. I’m fully aware that this will more than likely never be an issue as if I need to go thru a mag and change fast I made very poor decisions leading up to that. It’s more I’m leaning towards a good carry gun that I can also use for practice in the target competition side. If I had endless supply of money I’d buy a 26 and a 34 but I’d also have a brand new truck as well.

I typically CC a G19, but I also have a G27. The answer to the above problem is pierce base plates. Life savers!

Agreed that’s what I have on my 43.
