I haven't commented in a while but i do have a little info to add. So I decided to make my 23 a 19. I had already been stippled so I bought a slide and barrel from Thompson Leh and switched the ejector to a 19. Since then I have put 400-500 rds through it without any complications at all. That includes several types of mixed ammo and even some steel case mixed in here and there. Sometimes in the same mag. I'm still at least 500 rds from making it my EDC but to this point I'm more than pleased. 20190108_150651.jpg 20190108_150607.jpg

I think that is the one Jim. The way the pistol is situated
in it was throwing me. I found the identical one I have at
the walmart website at least it looks pretty close anyway.

    https://www.walmart.com/ip/Voodoo-Swanks-Pistol-Case-Weapon-Cases-Category/41118323?selected=true

I thought I bought from Amazon or Ebay but went through
my purchase history but nothing. Not sure where I bought it from
as it was a couple years ago I believe.

I can't seem to get the search to limit to just this thread, so sorry if this is a repeat topic.

I'm picking up a new 3rd gen (CA won't let us have the newer ones) 19 later this week and I'm looking for a "goldilocks" mag release for it. The factory release is the one that's too low (no big news for anyone with a glock there), but I don't want to go all the way up to the Glock extended lever that I have on my 17 and 35, which is the Glock "extended" release.

Is there something out there that's in between those two, enough higher than the regular that it's a workable control without much change in grip but not sticking out as far as the taller one? I'm tempted to try the TD "Vickers" one since I like their replacement for the slide stop more than the Glock extended one (swapped to that on both the 17 and 35, and already bought one to put on the 19), but I've never seen it up close and it seems like it might be taller than I'm hoping to find.

If you put another velcro "holster" into that bag, and only need to carry 5 mags per (with one in the well), that bag works decently for taking two pistols (unless you're trying to haul a USP elite and a 500 Magnum 8.5") to the range.

I've started just using mine to carry mags anymore since I bought a Plano range bag that's built around an ammo box, but it's a handy little case for those who carry their eyes/ears separately.

Lol, oh believe me, not one. I always hope I don't get pulled
over on the way to the range sometimes. Would be a very
    interesting conversation.

I actually had this conversation 3 weeks ago with a Deputy. I just bought a new 4 Runner and when the Deputy ran my tags sitting at the light it was still registered to my 17 Taco. So I got pulled over I rolled down the 5 tinted windows so he could see inside and well that's when he saw 5 rifle cases and 2 range bags.

He was like can you step out of the vehicle please and are these weapons yours? well of course there mine im going to punch holes in paper. the reason i pulled you over was these tags don't come back to this vehicle I said yes sir you are correct as I have the temporary documents in the glove box. He then was like have a nice day make sure you get the new registration transferred as soon as possible.

Is stippling really enough of an improvement over talon tape to be worth the extra cost?

I haven't tried the pre-cuts, but I have three or four polymer frame handles (two glocks, a XD and a USP) that I've wrapped completely using the sheets (about $10 on Amazon), and none has ever slipped on the frame or in my hand.

I used talons on my carry 19 for almost a year then I tried a friends stippled 19. It was similar but much better hand feel. I liked that it wasn’t rubberized that could grab on a shirt on presentation or the super gritty kind that makes range time a pain in the ass. I bit the bullet and got my 19 stippled with a slight undercut because I have monster hands. Completely different than talons. Now every gun I carry has a stippled job. Couldn’t endorse it (from a reputable vendor) enough.

    Makes sense.

Being in CA, I don't really have a "carry" gun unless I move or the state/local governments shit the bed and this place goes full-out "fury road" (which might be the more likely possibility). As long as the "law" is semi-functional, the problems that getting caught carrying illegally would bring are bigger than any likely physical danger that I'd have a hope of confronting in that manner.

I hope you are aware, this is result of the County Sherriff's position on CCW, cause yeah. I am behind the Kommiefornia curtain and have a ccw in state...……………..

My day-to-day isn't really a high-threat environment (L.A. south bay), and my company's policies would prohibit it at work even if I had a CCW. I'm aware that there are other counties that do grant permits on a reasonable basis, but I don't even often travel to/through those counties much less get there often during business hours; also, getting into any complications with a "weapons" issue could threaten my security clearance which could restrict my job opportunities.

In practical terms, a decent folder and a "tactical pen" is more than enough for my EDC, but with the track the current regime is on, I'm picking up my Glock 19 tomorrow or Friday so I'll have something that I could carry in a relative EOTWAWKI/"zombie apocalypse" scenario since it's seeming more and more of a real possibility around here, which would likely alter my work situation as well.
