I changed the air filter, and when I removed the damper from the glove box, it fell onto the floor. I couldn't find any attachment point up in the dash for that end of the damper. Any photos or schematics showing how that damper is held up in the dash?

    Here:
Connect the middle hole to the dash first. Then install the glove box and connect the rod to the glove box.

Some people have installed a small screw between the fingers that hold the cylinder damper to keep them spread and prevent the damper from coming loose.

Thanks for that photo, Jimmyh. I was looking way up further in that void space and for two clips (to fit the two different holes on the damper body). As they say, good thing it wasn't a snake... Problem solved.

Mine came off so many times that I finally gave up and tossed it in the trash. It's nice to have, but not having it work isn't a big deal once you get used to it.
