glove box wont open-any tips

i had it out to do the yellow wire mod and when i went to install it i couldnt get it to stay shut,seen it was the wire i have in there for ipod and also usb so i moved it and go it to close,no slamming just a normal push...now the dam thing dont open,and advice

 

I feel your pain. I had something similar with a 68 Camaro. The push button broke and the door would not open.

I had to cut out the cardboard liner to get to the back of the button. I know that's drastic, but it was not an expensive part to replace.

Can you get to the hinge from underneath? It's dark here and I'm lazy or I'd go out and look. If you can get to the hinge maybe you can remove the door that way and fix the latch.

 

That's what I need-- some sunlight.I believe I can get to the hinge but I think maybe the latch may be still locked to the hinge....i wish I had a pic of the back of the box so I could plan my attack

Does it fell like the latch is working? I had mine stuck once and I realized it was just junk stuck in the way and I just had to shake and pull hard to open. After I moved the stuff around it worked just fine.

 

Feels like the latch isn't opening it at all....I will do some minor operation after work.it can't be to bad right lmao....only plastic

 

I've got just the opposite. After replacing the cabin air filter, put the glove box back on and it will not latch shut, stays open. The handle works but the little wheel in the door does not catch the loop. Any ideas.

Update,,,,I destroyed it.its broken now.ripped something off that broke and it now closes and Poe s but ya gotta pinch two plastic tabs that the broke off part operated before.
