What's your point? Trolling? Or interested in buying a new truck?

Was thinking the same thing, the only two contributions to the thread are to troll a response....

Must be a slow day for him.

If anything, it matters to me/us because it means Toyota will have to bring their A game to compete.

I think its a great thing.

    But this:
Should be disconcerting for anyone buying one built right now. They've already had issues out of the plant. Do you really want one from a place thats running extra shifts?

Man you guys look so far into everything. Tacoma is still leading in sales despite GM having two midsize trucks, and a gas and diesel option. It's the same as F150 fans comparing their numbers to the Silverado and Sierra combined. GM even led Ford at one point when you combined the sales between their two trucks but Ford still advertised as the half ton leader by a long shot.

Even if the twins overtook the Tacoma in sales it wouldn't make me think any less of my truck. I love my Tacoma and it hasn't given me any trouble whatsoever, just like all of my other Toyotas that had over 100k miles on them.

We'll see if Ford makes the Ranger as capable as a TRD Off-Road/TRD Pro. It'll be interesting to see what they come up with. For now, I don't see myself switching brands in the future. I like to stick to what works, and when I see all my buddies who drive domestics having all kinds of problems it makes me all the more happy I drive a Toyota

To be honest, I DON'T want everyone driving Toyotas. I like being relatively exclusive in what I drive.

Ford also wants to keep its full-size title. Something they are quite proud to have. They don't want risk losing the title by bringing in a smaller truck. Will be interesting to see what they do with the new Ranger.

Where I work, the majority of trucks are Tacomas. It's pretty cool to see the lot packed with first and second gens. I'm the only third gen so far but I have had a few people approach me asking to look at it because they're interested in buying one.

I believe Ford stated a few years back that they had no plan on bringing the Ranger back because it affected full-size truck sales (which netted them more money.) I'm kind of glad there will be a new Ranger just for the competition aspect. I plan to stick to Toyota's in the future but more and more midsize trucks in the market can only mean a better outcome for the consumer as far as choice and innovation

Yep, the lot where I work is full of 1st, 2nd gen Tacos and alot of Tundras, there's only 1 quicksand 3rd gen right now.

But I'm starting to see more on the road as time goes by.... I've even seen another QS OR running around my neighborhood.

    :annoyed:

Can't hate them for choosing Toyota when the alternatives are the ugly GM twins and the grandpa Frontier ;)

The reason Tacoma's are not selling as robustly as they did at the launch is that all the Fanboy's now have their trucks. Now Toyota must compete for sales with people who don't care about Toyota.

Fanboy..... you kids need to come up with something better as it's a bit overused, particularly by people that seem to post here daily.

Or by someone who's avatar is a professional sports emblem... talk about irony.

Look up the meaning of "irony" and it might explain my post.

Nothin wrong with your avatar but here's a little hint...

It doesn't make much sense using the term "Fanboy" in the derogative by someone who's a fanboy of a professional sports team so that we're reminded of it with every post.

And to be fair, the post wasn't directly just towards you.... but at everyone that seems to like throwing the Fanboy term around while posting here everyday... obviously they're also "fanboys", maybe not of the 3rd gen or Tacos for that matter but they're fanboys of TW.

    That's my point
