Pricing is much better on the Contour now. If you buy it all from Amazon, get the camera, waterproof case, and suction mount it will cost $210.

    GoPro's motorsport kit is $255

ive never seen contourhd video on a tv but i watched some of my gopro vids at 720p and 60 fps on my tv and wow it was amazing quality. i also think the go pro is better for all the different types of mounts it has, but i also dont know what is available for the contour

I went with the Contour, several reasons. the "Bullet Cam" style fit my needs much better than the "Box". Mounting the Countour on a helmet is much more erganomical than the GoPro. The mounting options with the countoue are sick. Roll Bar, Head, Helmet, Flat, Suction, Flat.... just about every mounting situation possiable.
I have the 1080, yes the GPS is Sweet, but the new cam Countour Plus has the best lenses available, and a IPHONE app where you can see the camera field of view from your phone...sick.
Plus, I like the fact that I get 60FPS at 720P, awesome, watch this video in 720P and you'll see the difference, on my dirtbike the quality of the video and color is way better than the GoPro.

We can go at this all day, color, the go pro dosn't come out of the box like that. How much post processing went into that?

GoPro has the marketing edge for now, both devices offer great quality (construction and video), it come down to preference. For me I don't want the "Box", the simple Bullet style fits my needs better. I do think that Countour has the edge for now with the new cam.... but its just a matter of time. Like Ford or Chevy, and Nvida or AMD video cards, they will always one up each other, its all a matter of preference.
