Did you end up going with the “bed liner type” finish or the basic powdercoat? I like the look of them out of all the running boards I have seen so far. Wondering if I should go with the basic powdercoat and have them bed lined myself to help preserve them. Also did you have an issue with the hardware that came with them rusting? I have read more than one case of that happening with these boards. Thanks for the response.

I went with the Bed liner finish. The hardware did rust, nothing crazy, it just drove me crazy along with the peeling. I’m going to clean them up in the spring and bed line them myself and then decide if I want to put them back on. One more thing I forget to mention they are pretty heavy.

Ok good to know, are they noticeably heavier than the oem aluminum boards? I watched a video on them and they stated they offer a 5 year warranty on the finish of them. It might not hurt to shoot them an email to see if you can recoup some of the cost back for the hassle.

After doing some digging the weight difference between the GoRhinos and the OEM aluminum are approximately 10 lbs and the ones I have now (Toyota PT212-35055) are around 35 lb difference. I thought about the warranty but I have a friend that has a body shop that will coat them or I may do it myself haven’t decided yet, the warranty may be worth a shot though. The price difference between the GoRhinos and OEM aluminum is around $300 on Amazon. If I had it to do over I probably wouldn’t purchase the GoRhinos again, my fault though because I knew of some of the issues with the coating. Live and Learn I guess.

They do look good but in the end they didn’t work for me.
Then again who knows maybe they’ll end up back on my truck. Good luck with them.

I did forget one thing, they are great for avoiding door dings. I was sitting in my truck at good old WalMart, waiting for her, listening to the radio, then out of nowhere the truck moved and I heard a bang and then it happened again. Long story short some guy pulled in next to me flung his door open hit my running board got pissed and did it again. I put my window down asked him if he was finished and all he could do was put his head down and mumble about my bleeping running boards.

I love the look of these and actually think I prefer the wide front. I just bought my first Tacoma, 2019 Off-Road, and have a pair of these on order in the bedliner coating.

bringing this thread back to life just to see how everyones RB20's are holding up after a few years. How is the finish holding up? Do you find that they are too wide (GoRhino released a slimmer version now so tore between the two)?

    TIA!

The bracket measures 3” wide and the width of the opening is 2 3/4”. They seem like the wrong bracket. Waiting for Auto Anything to reply. This doesn’t seem like the right part.

The bracket pics I posted yesterday are the same item# on the box as on the Go Rhino website but they can’t be the correct brackets because with only an 1/8” play you can’t adjust them. Plus the gap between the bottom of the door and the top of the board is enough to get your foot through.

So I tried the brackets from the old dealer installed running boards. Exactly what I was looking for, less bling, more grit.
